8.37pm A fantastic finish and some devastating hitting at the death has seen Bangladesh put up a very competitive total, particularly in the context of how their innings began. Both openers were sent packing inside the first two overs, but Litton hung around - scrappily initially - during a consolidatory partnership with Towhid Hridoy, before later finding his groove alongside the outstanding Shamim Hossain. Litton finished on 76 off 50, but it was Shamim's 48 off 27 that caused Sri Lanka the most distress. Sri Lanka though were exemplary in the field - barring for the two let-offs off Litton - and a pair of run outs in the final over meant Bangladesh were unable to reach the 180-mark Litton had felt was a good total at the toss. Still, Sri Lanka will need to turn up with the bat to hunt these down. Fidel will be here to guide you through the chase shortly.

Thushara to Mohammad Saifuddin, FOUR, Crunched through extra cover! Bangladesh end the innings well. This was full on off, and Saifuddin has leant back and found the space. Bangladesh end on 177 for 7!

Thushara to Mohammad Saifuddin, 2 runs, Is it a third straight run out!? No, but what a throw. This was clipped well to deep backward square leg, but the throw is a bullet. Direct hit would have had the man, but in this instance the second it takes to remove the bails plus the dive saves him

Thushara to Rishad Hossain, OUT, And again! Shamim's urgency has done him in here! Rishad misses the wide yorker, and Shamim is already on his bike. But Kusal again does brilliantly to throw down the stumps. Had Shamim not tried for the earlier single, he would have been on strike and Bangladesh would be two wickets to the better

Shamim Hossain run out 48 (40m 27b 5x4 2x6) SR: 177.77

Thushara to Shamim Hossain, OUT, This was a well-directed fuller one, that Shamim misses. Shamim though calls immediately for the single, and Jaker is not expecting it. Kusal takes aim and fires down the stumps at the striker's end

Jaker Ali run out 3 (7m 2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 150

Thushara to Shamim Hossain, SIX, Outstanding hit! Targets the short boundary and how! Gets across the line and picks this back of a length delivery over fine leg. The fielder in the deep can't reach this

Thushara to Shamim Hossain, 2 leg byes, follows Shamim who makes room down leg, 134kph. This deflects square off the pads, but they manage to scamper through for two

Last two fifties came off 32 and 23 balls respectively. How many can Bangladesh get in this final over. It's Thushara to finish things off.

Theekshana to Litton Das, OUT, And finally Sri Lanka see the back of Litton! End of a very important innings - in the context of this game and wider. Theekshana has pushed this through around middle and leg, and Litton looks to slog this over midwicket. Only manages a thick edge though, that pops up to short third

Litton Das c Thushara b Theekshana 76 (80m 50b 1x4 5x6) SR: 152

Ayaz: "What's the par score in this ground?" --- 167, but that has been heavily impacted by the slower surfaces prepared towards the tail-end of last year.

B Fernando to Litton Das, no run, Wide yorker and this one surprises Litton who has made room on the leg side. Falls over as he strives to reach this in vain

B Fernando to Litton Das, SIX, Bang! This was a length ball, 109kph, but Litton read it and was sitting back and waiting. He has absolutely thumped this, high over cow corner. 150 is up!

B Fernando to Shamim Hossain, FOUR, Switch hit and four! This was a very slower bouncer, Shamim gets into position early and gloves this hard. It loops past the keeper, and fine enough of short fine

Odinlass: "Is this a slow surface? The current projection of 167 feels quite under par." --- Definitely not slow, quite a good batting surface I'd say.

Thushara to Shamim Hossain, 1 bye, Swing and a miss! Length outside off, looks to get low and swipe across the line. But alert stuff from Bangladesh. Kusal underarms at the stumps and the ball deflects into space. They steal a single

Palinda: "Can't blame Vandersay. Created two chances against Litton but non were taken. How much will this cost SL?"

6
Thushara to Shamim Hossain, SIX, Imperious! Full on off, again stands and delivers. High elbow finish, swings through the line, and launches this all the way over long-off. This is gorgeous stuff
16.4
4
Thushara to Shamim Hossain, FOUR, Slapped through extra cover! Another attempted wide yorker, but this time the length is not quite right, and Shamim too as stayed his ground. Gets low on one knee and clatters this

Thushara to Shamim Hossain, no run, wide yorker, 127kph, Shamim makes room on the onside and prices himself out of being able to reach this. Smart death bowling
