Scorer: Ranjith P | Commentator: Shashwat Kumar

10:40pm That will be all from us for this game. If you missed out on any of the action, Firdose Moonda's report should have you covered. Until next time, from Gnasher, Ranjith and myself (Shashwat), this is goodbye. Take care, folks!

Dewald Brevis, Player of the Match: (On having the highest score for South Africa in men's T20Is) I have not really thought about it, but extremely grateful. Just happy we won today, great to be out here on the winning side. To celebrate that final wicket - that was the ultimate (feeling) today. You want to win, so be able to come back strong after the first game is fantastic. Everyone played their part. We took our catches, bowlers nailed their plans, and good to see it all (pan out). They (the Australian batters) are great players, they hit the ball hard and over the ropes, so we have to be on it, especially in this format. We played well today, so that's great.

Aiden Markram, South Africa captain: Nice to take it to the third game. You always worry after going 1-0 down that the third game might be for nothing. Great to get the win. (On Brevis) It was up there (with the best). The boys were just down there laughing. He hits it miles, quite a freakish display tonight, quite chuffed that the world got to see what he can do. He has played a lot of T20s around the world - he is still quite young, he will only get better. We know they (Australia) would come really hard. Holding nerve and sticking (to your strengths)
it is T20 cricket at the end of the day, so credit to the guys for holding their nerve (and executing).

Mitchell Marsh, Australia captain: (On Brevis) He mistimed quite a few sixes tonight (smiles). He is a young, powerful man. Upcoming player in international cricket and well played to him. Chasing that down was going to be tough. We needed a few partnerships early, could not do that.

10:28pm At the half-way stage, it felt like a steep run-chase, and so it proved to be. Australia did give it a rattle, with their top four coming hard at South Africa, and David impressing again with another half-century. But once he fell in the tenth over, Australia struggled for continued impetus, with Maxwell also perishing soon after. Owen could not get going either, and with SA holding on to almost all the chances that came their way, the result never seemed in doubt thereafter.

Speaking of the visitors, they will be pleased with their bowling display. They had to contend with lots of dew, but found a way to be effective. Their plans also seemed much better than Australia's, not to mention their top-notch execution, and they now have given themselves a shot at sealing a series win in a couple of days' time.

Ngidi to Abbott, OUT, simple catch at short third, and Australia's nine-game winning streak has been snapped, and we are going to a decider in a couple of days' time! This is another slower ball (surprise, surprise) that drops on a fullish length outside off. Abbott has a wild slog across the line and gets a thick outside edge. Swirls towards Rabada, who makes no mistake, and that caps off an excellent South African performance - kick-started by Brevis, and then finished off by the bowlers!

Ngidi to Abbott, no run, on-pace, low full toss just outside off. Abbott jams down on it and digs it out towards extra cover

Ngidi to Abbott, no run, another excellent slower ball, even though this ends up as a full toss. Abbott too early into the stroke again and chalks it into the on side

Ngidi to Abbott, no run, oh, almost the winning moment! Devilishly-disguised slower ball that dips on the batter late and drops just outside off. Abbott is way too early into the stroke and is lucky his off stump is not pegged back

Bosch to Zampa, OUT, holes out to long on, and SA seem to be in a hurry now! Hard length just outside off. Zampa stands up tall and rather ambitiously, tries to pummel that over long on. Gets a good chunk of it but not enough to clear Stubbs, who stations himself a few yards inside the fence and gobbles up the chance in front of his face!

Bosch to Dwarshuis, OUT, middle stump knocked back, and Australia eight down now! Back of a length on middle and leg. Might have been a cutter too and that was what got the better of Dwarshuis. He wanted to plant this into next week but the lack of pace led to an air-shot, with the stumps being rattled not long after!

BJ Dwarshuis b Bosch 12 (11m 7b 0x4 1x6) SR: 171.42
