2.07pm So, from a nadir of 45 for 3, and then 71 for 4, England have romped to 499 at a rate just under five an over. Harry Brook was the mainstay, with a chancy but brilliant 171, while Stokes, with 80 and Ollie Pope, with 77, were his main sidekicks along the way. Atkinson and Carse gave it some welly too, and with a 151-run lead, England have seized control of this Test. Henry took four but their pick was Will O'Rourke, who deserved much, much better than his one-for. Eight dropped catches will do that to a team. Back in a mo for the reply.
Sampath notes: "The five chances that Harry Brook had in his innings of 171 are the most for any batter in a men's Test innings since May 2018 (catches or stumpings). The next is 4 each for Marnus Labuschagne (in his 103 vs ENG in Adelaide, 2021) and Ibrahim Zadran (in his 114 vs SL in Colombo, 2024)"
