  • Josh Hazlewood8-1-40-1

Just a 20-minute break, so play will restart around 6:10pm

Stat from Sampath: 28 runs conceded by Mitchell Starc is the most expensive over by an Australian bowler in men's ODIs. Previous most was 26 runs by Simon Davis, Craig McDermott, Xavier Doherty, Adam Zampa and Cameroon Green.

Issac: "English finally set no Livingstone unturned "

Stephen: "I told you 306 was on!" Shockingly it is true, kudos. This is from the 24th over - "Yep, projected score: 306. You heard it here first."

5:50pm Are you not entertained? England's ethos-transfer programme is finally showing some signs of clicking after what has been a (insert negative adjective) year in white-ball cricket. They showed ample amounts of urgency in a truncated innings. Starc and Hazlewood made it a tough start but Duckett fought through, and while Salt and Jacks failed, Brook was unfazed to keep England falling forward. Australia tried out a few things with the ball too. Use of swing early on, Starc bowling wobble balls to Brook at the start. Lots of spin at the death, like in the first ODI, but England's brave chance-taking was rewarded as Livingstone showed signs of regaining his clean-hitting mastery from a couple years back. In the end, it helped his side finish with a run rate of 8 RPO.

Amit Nakra: "Last over felt like stick cricket ..... "

Starc to Livingstone, FOUR, Starc doesn't miss the yorker and Livingstone still scythes it masterfully. 28-run over to finish the innings, thank you very much.
38.5
6
Starc to Livingstone, SIX, Line, length, pace, nothing matters no more! Lord's is Livi-ng the life, mahn. This was slow and on a length outside off, pulled with the free-est of swings away over midwicket
38.4
6
Starc to Livingstone, SIX, 300 isn't just possible but is breached with two balls to spare, thanks to Livingstone bringing up the fastest fifty in Lord's. Starc goes for the yorker again, delivers a low full toss and that has been panned over long-off
38.3
6
Starc to Livingstone, SIX, Starc goes for the yorker again and Livingstone goes beyond the boundary again. "Why would you change what's worked?" Ponting queries on air

Starc to Livingstone, no run, Slower one into the pitch. Beats the pull
38.1

Starc to Livingstone, SIX, Yeah, that should be 12.... Proper tee-off, it's the on-drive with superpowers. It's as powerful and perfectly timed. Missed yorker costs Starc

Venkat : "300 not possible "

Jason: "Forgive me if I'm late to the party. Why is Inglis keeping? Hasn't Carey always been considered the better keeper?" Not today, Carey has been in the outfield in the later overs

1
Hazlewood to Livingstone, 1 run, Yorker on fifth, drilled to deep point. Square drive off the bottom of the bat is the best you could do with those. Great execution by Hazlewood
37.5
0
Hazlewood to Livingstone, no run, Bumper with a grunt, 118ks, pull attempted also with a grunt. Livingstone misses. Did a full swivel too, and replay shows it was a tight call but Hazlewood gets one in his favour
37.4
4
Hazlewood to Livingstone, FOUR, Cuffed into the pitch and past the bowler
37.3
0
Hazlewood to Livingstone, no run, Hazlewood outmsmarts Livingstone with a bluff. Bowls a perfect wide-line yorker with a short third in. Livingstone started outside leg stump but that meant he'd made too much room. The weight was going back, so he couldn't lean the other way
37.2
1lb
Hazlewood to Bethell, 1 leg bye, Yorker beats bat but England will be happy as the strike is rotated. Beat the flick and deflected off the pad to the off side
37.1
0
Hazlewood to Bethell, no run, Appeal for caught behind... turned down. Australia review. Bethell pre-meditated a reverse sweep but got a rising back of lengther without pace. So, he tried to adjust and go for the reverse pull. The ball passed close to the gloves... but did not brush them, slow-motion replays confirm

END OF OVER:

  • Jacob Bethell12 (17b)
  • Liam Livingstone29 (17b)
  • Mitchell Starc7-0-42-0
  • Josh Hazlewood7-1-35-1

Nine off the over, not too bad for Australia but 300 still on

Richard A Bond: "Can you have "Shadows Stopped Play"?" No interruption is impossible in cricket

36.6
1
Starc to Bethell, 1 run, Bethell makes room and Starc goes for the yorker. Not nailed but same goes for the attempted slap to long-off. Gets it along the ground
36.5
0
Starc to Bethell, no run, Slower bouncer lands in line with off stump before spinning back. Bethell had made room but the ball followed him, beat the pull and hit him around the chest

Pretty sure a fielder just said 'sun is so bad' that the stump mic caught

36.4
1lb
Starc to Livingstone, 1 leg bye, Worked across the line to deep square leg
36.3

Starc to Livingstone, no run, Starc's palms are stinging after stopping that. Went for the yorker again and Livingstone drilled it back. Hit on the palms, probably close to the wrist
36.2
6
Starc to Livingstone, SIX, Yorker missed, it's a slot ball and Livingstone creams it over long-off, 20 rows back
