5:21pm That will be all from us for this game. The Spirit have done everything they could have done to put themselves in contention to qualify, but all of that will only be decided after the Northern Superchargers take on the Manchester Originals. We hope you enjoyed our coverage of this game and until next time, from Ranjith and myself, Shashwat, this is goodbye!
Charlie Dean, Player of the Match: (On her catch to dismiss Kapp) I should have been on the ring (smiles). But managed to time my jump and hung on. That was an impressive victory. We went out wanting to bounce back and to win by a margin like that…we did not discuss to much about NRR but the way we went about that, it was fantastic. I did not start particularly well (in the tournament. But really honed in today. The pitch worked in my favour and I hit my lengths today. (On Chathli) She is brilliant. At the top of the order, trying to punch first. They (the openers) were brilliant today, could not have asked for more from them. (On if she will be watching tomorrow's game between MO and NSC) Probably. We have a rest day and hope for the best. We have done everything (to put ourselves in the best position to qualify) and fingers crossed.
5:15pm An utterly dominant run-chase. At the break, Eva Gray suggested the Spirit would be happy chasing down this score in 80-85 balls, and they have surpassed those expectations and some. Chathli was brilliant at the top of the order, smashing the ball to all parts and utilizing the powerplay, which included putting Kapp to the sword. Redmayne then grew into the innings and pressed on the accelerator too, with the pair combining for a 100-plus stand that knocked the stuffing out of the Invincibles.
Speaking of the Invincibles, this was the perforamnce of a team that had nothing riding on this game. They were lacklustre with the bat and perhaps poorer with the ball. This, in general, has been a season where they have not punched their weight and their final display of the season was not very dissimilar, which is probably what will sting the most.
