2:20pm That will be all from us for this game. Lots more lined up in the Hundred, though, and you can follow all the action live on ESPNcricinfo. Until next time, from Raghav and myself (Shashwat), this is goodbye!

Sophie Devine, Player of the Match: Credit has to go to the Fire. We were cruising at the half-way stage, the way they fought back and took it to the last. (On the pitch) I thought it was a pretty good cricket wicket. The way she (Dunkley) came out at us, she was hitting it pretty hard. She showed the wicket was good enough to hit through the line. Took us a little too long to adjust to what was a good length. Each ground is going to be slightly different - really pleased we were able to restrict them (to that total). Really similar to the Rockets game, we wanted to get ahead of the rate. They (our openers) played some good cricket shots. We got a little bit of a wobble, but to get over the line, and for people to keep their heads at the end, it was pretty pleasing. We were not at our best but to still get over the line is pretty pleasing. We need our full squad (to go the distance). We want to ensure we keep improving and keep getting better.

2:15pm Phew. What a game of cricket. For the longest while, it felt this would be a routine run-chase. But then, the wickets started falling, and the Brave lost their way. They would have still felt confident with Devine at the crease, but Matthews broke things open with an excellent set. That left Adams and Villiers as the protagonists in the last ten balls, only for them to then indulge in a run-out. Adams, though, did not brood over it and held her nerve to do just enough to take the Brave to 24 points, and ensure that their spotless record remains intact.

A bitter pill to swallow in the end for the Fire. They were not in the game until they were suddenly in with a good shout to win it. A few more runs on the board would have helped, but their bowling and especially their fielding, barring that last ball, was top-notch and that induced a stutter that could well have ended in a Welsh Fire win on another day. It was not to be, however, and they remain winless this season.

Davies to Adams, 2 runs, almost a stunning catch, and the irony of it all is that the Southern Brave, courtesy of that moment, have sneaked past the finish line! Angled in on a length on the stumps. Adams hangs back and shovels it towards deep mid wicket. The fielder dives forward, and nearly pulls off a worldie. The ball just spills out as George lunges forward, and rolls away far enough to allow the Brave batters to scamper back for the brace. George is distraught, as is Davies. The effort was top-notch, but the rub of the green just swayed towards the Southern Brave!

2 off 2. Surely the Fire have to bring the field up and take that risk?

Davies to Adams, 2 runs, zipped in full just outside off. Adams sits deep in her crease and tugs it towards long on. Southby charges back for the second and makes it!

1
Davies to Southby, 1 run, shortish and angling into the body. Southby gets the faintest of tickles and helps it down to fine leg

Southby on strike. 5 off 4

W
Davies to Villiers, 1 run, OUT, oh dear - what has happened here?! Length delivery hung up wide outside off. Would have been a wide had Villiers left it, but she plays at it. Cuts it towards deep point, and there is then a collision between the batters. Proper chaos, and the throw is close enough to the stumps for Bryce to effect the run-out. There was confusion between the batters in whether to go for the second, and this is probably the worst possible outcome for the Brave!

MK Villiers run out 4 (6m 5b 0x4 0x6) SR: 80

6 off 5. Looks like Davies will bowl the final set of this match. Villiers on strike. Who are you backing? This looked an easy Brave win for a lot of the run-chase, but the Fire never threw in the towel. Keeper up to the stumps

Levick to Adams, 1 run, fullish outside off. Adams skips down the track and powers it uppishly towards long off

1
Levick to Villiers, 1 run, floated up and Villiers, by advancing, almost yorks herself. Squeezes it past the bowler somehow and picks up a single. That should have been stopped

1
Levick to Adams, 1 run, length outside off. Adams takes a step down the track and pokes it towards long off

Levick to Villiers, 1 run, given a bit of air on middle stump. Villiers charges down the track and chips it over the bowler's head. Ismail is placed very straight at long on and cuts it off

Levick to Villiers, no run, flighted up full just outside off. Villiers comes forward and drives it straight to mid off. Dot ball

10 off 10, with four wickets in hand. Brave still the side ahead, but the Fire will feel they can pull off an improbable win here, especially with a tidy set here. Levick to bowl. The Fire are taking their time over setting their field

11 off 12, and this is getting rather tense. Villiers is the new batter. Mathews stays around the wicket

W
Matthews to Devine, OUT, goes straight up, and taken! The Welsh Fire are fighting! Tossed up full on middle and off, and this drops on Devine devilishly. She hares down, trying to smoke this into the river, but is too far away from the pitch of the ball. Swings at it wildly nevertheless and all she manages is a slice towards backward point, where Davies makes no mistake!

Jonassen to Adams, no run, fired in full outside off. Adams comes forward and stabs it towards mid wicket

Jonassen on the brink of a five-wicket haul, but she only has one ball left in her spell. Adams on strike. 14 off 16

W
Jonassen to Tryon, OUT, balloons up, and Beaumont snaffles it up! Fizzed through on a length, in and around off, and this seems to stick in the surface. Tryon, looking to work to leg, gets a tame leading edge and the ball hangs in the air agonizingly. Beaumont tracks it from extra cover, sprints forward and then lunges at it to complete the catch. Is there life in this game still?!

Hypocaust: "Freya Kemp has hit more sixes this season (4) than the whole Welsh Fire team (3)."

W
Jonassen to Kemp, OUT, in the air, and taken, eventually! Jonassen dangles the carrot outside off, and Kemp bites. She looks to go downtown but is beaten in flight, meaning she has to reach out in front. Clinks it off the toe-end towards long off, where Ismail juggles it once and then holds on. Not the cleanest catch of all time, but that will do for now!

Jonassen to Devine, 1 run, darted in on a back of a length on middle and off, after seeing Devine advance. She has a mow across the line and inside-edges it past the stumps

15 off 20, and this chase may have reached that point where the Brave now look to swell their NRR. Jonassen to bowl

Davies to Kemp, 2 runs, back of a length just outside off. Kemp stays leg side of the ball and punches it crisply past extra cover. Long off cuts it off but not before the batters get back for two
