4:07pm A stop-start innings that was in danger of completely imploding through the middle. But Arlott and Kalis then put together a record seventh-wicket stand to ensure that the Phoenix have something to bowl at. Prior to that, Voll thrilled for a brief patch, as did Kelly, but that was followed by a spell of self-destructive batting.
The Superchargers, given they had the Phoenix reeling at 59-6 at one point, will feel they gave away a few too many towards the end. That said, had you given the Superchargers this score, on a true batting deck before the game, they would have probably taken it. Smith was the best of the lot, with Higham also bagging a couple of wickets, and they will now be fancying their chances of chasing this down. Join us in a bit for the second innings!
Linsey Smith: (On how she is feeling after her performance) Happy. Only half the job done, hopefully the batters can make use of the new ball (and chase it down). There is a lot of stuff at the death I am working on. Today, set the tone quite well. For me, I try and keep the stumps in play as much as possible. Me and Hollie had a chat, and trying to make them sweep. Few of their batters like to access the area over extra. If you can try and make the batters make a mistake, you are doing well. (On the pitch) It is pretty nice. It started off nice with the hard ball, and hopefully are batters can take advantage of that.
