The ball dribbles towards the bowler, who stretches out her right hand and gets fingertips to it. The ball then trundles into the stumps at the other end and Perry, backing up for the possibility of the single, is caught well short. An unfortunate way to get dismissed, but Perry, it must be noted, was holding on to her bat with both hands, which made getting back in time much tougher. Does not go through with the stroke fully, though, and subsequently does not generate the desired power. Cross settles herself at long off and gobbles up the chance with glee! 59/6
