anish : "This is a small Ground and it can be chased " -- Of course it can be chased, but this is also a knockout game, which might complicate matters...

9:03pm Excellent. Exceptional. Extraordinary. And many other such superlatives. This is a knockout game. With plenty at stake. But MI, after a sedate powerplay, never made it feel that way. They took the attack to the Giants and smashed the ball to all parts, with Matthews and Sciver-Brunt starring with half-centuries. Harmanpreet then enjoyed herself, producing a 12-ball 36 (at a strike rate of 300) and closed out the innings, taking Mumbai past 200 and taking them to a gargantuan total, at least in playoff terms.

As good as Mumbai were, the Giants were ordinary, at best. They shot themselves in the foot and that too might be putting things mildly. Almost all of their bowlers travelled and the less said about their fielding and catching the better. Not to mention Gardner bowling just two overs. They now have a mountain to climb to get to their maiden final and will need something truly special to knock MI out of their stride. Join us in a bit for the chase!

Hayley Matthews: Pretty happy, set some goals before the match. Goal was around 180, getting the score up to 213, is pretty pleasing. Good to get some out of the middle and contributing to that score. (On how she prepared for Gibson, who was included as a last-minute replacement) Went back, sat down and watched a bit of footage. You always have to be prepared, and tried to trust my gameplan as much as I could. (On the pitch) 1-2 balls were holding slightly. The more time you spend at the crease, the better you are able to time the ball. (On their bowling plans) To keep it tight at the start, push the run-rate up.

Meghna Singh to H Kaur, OUT, a scruffy run-out to end the innings, but Mumbai still end up with 213! Slower yorker that dips on the batter very late on off stump. Harmanpreet can only dig it out along the ground to extra cover. Chances her arm on the single. Meghna does not gather it cleanly but the ball ricochets off her wrists and bobbles into the stumps, with Harmanpreet not even in the frame!

Meghna Singh to Sajana, 1 run, short and wide outside off. Sajana throws her hands at it and slaps it towards extra cover. Harmanpreet calls her through and keeps strike

Meghna Singh to Sajana, no run, well well! Slower ball on a length just outside off. Sajana, ambitiously, goes for the lap and misses it altogether. Surely the better option was to get Harmanpreet back on strike?

Sandy: ""NSB went past Perry in the most number of runs in WPL, what a player.""

Meghna Singh to H Kaur, 1 run, juicy full toss on middle and leg, and Harmanpreet has missed out here. Cloths it and the ball dribbles towards deep backward square leg

Meghna Singh to H Kaur, SIX, this is an even better stroke, and Harmanpreet is, well, toying with the bowling now! Another slot ball, honing into off stump. Harmanpreet gives herself room and scythes it over the deep cover fence! And they are loving it in the MI dugout!

Meghna Singh to H Kaur, SIX, watch that ball sail! Right in the slot outside off. Harmanpreet, laying back deep in her crease, can swing through the line and she launches it over long off!

Meghna to bowl the last over. Gardner opts not to bowl the 20th. Interesting...

Gibson to Nat Sciver-Brunt, OUT, stop the press, the Gujarat Giants have held onto a catch! Back of a length outside off. A bit of hold in the surface and that causes the skewed stroke. NSB too early into her slog and the ball swirls towards deep mid wicket. Litchfield settles under it and completes the catch with a reverse-cup in front of her face. The crowd stands up to applaud, and many at home might be doing the same. This has been another incredible knock, and it has come just when the Mumbai Indians needed it!

Gibson to Nat Sciver-Brunt, FOUR, insult to injury! Is there any part of the ground NSB has not accessed tonight?! Misses the yorker by a smidgen on the shorter side outside off and NSB cashes in. The bat turns in her hand but she gets enough muscle behind it to clear mid off!

Gibson to Nat Sciver-Brunt, no run, length ball hung up wide outside off. NSB looks for the cute, little reverse-lap but fails to make contact. A rare play and a miss

Gibson to Nat Sciver-Brunt, 2 runs, goes a mile up, and is put down! You cannot make it up! Slower ball on a length outside off. NSB winds up and swings for the hills. Miscues it completely and Kanwar gets under it at square leg. But when the ball comes down, she shells it!

Gibson to Nat Sciver-Brunt, FOUR, NSB wants a piece of the fun too! She has had to bide her time with Harmanpreet hogging strike lately but now, she pounces. Picks up this shortish ball on leg stump and dumps it behind square. One bounce and into the fence!

Two overs left. 200 very much within reach now. Gibson to bowl the penultimate over
