8:56pm 180 was probably the order of the evening, and MI have almost gotten that many. Most of that was down to Harmanpreet, who mustered her fourth half-century against the Giants and batted superbly. There were handy cameos from Amanjot, Matthews and Sciver-Brunt as well, which ensured MI never went through a massively elongated lull.

The Giants, meanwhile, were largely accurate and stuck to their guns, barring perhaps the final few overs. Gardner was the pick of the bunch, with Mishra also enhancing her reputation. Gautam took a bit of tap at the death, with Kanwar and Dottin also expensive. They will back themselves to chase this down, given their batting firepower but would have ideally wanted to chase a smaller score. Join us in a bit for the chase!

Nat Sciver-Brunt, who is also the Orange Cap holder now: It was a good wicket, a bit of swing at the start. They bowled in some good areas and made it difficult for us. Harmanpreet staying there and then a few lower-order runs got us to a good total. Hopefully we can get some shape as well, and a bit of seam for me and Shabnim, and hopefully we can create mistakes (from the batters). This is probably the quickest outfield. In the field, making that effort as a team to stop every ball - that will be important. (On shouldering responsibility) I love to play cricket that way, love to be involved in the game. The more chances I get to influence the game, I am happy.

Kanwar to Bhatia, 1 run, OUT, run out to end the innings, and MI finish just one run short of 180! Fired in full just outside off. Bhatia charges down the track and swings for the hills. Slices it towards cover, where Fulmali puts down the catch. Dottin gathers the ball as it is bobbling away and fires it at the batter's end, catching Bhatia short as she was looking to pinch the second. A frenetic end to a frenetic innings!

Kanwar to Bhatia, FOUR, six followed by a four! Bhatia is turning it on at the death! Length again and Kanwar pays the price. Kanwar skips down and smacks it to long on's left!

6
Kanwar to Bhatia, SIX, Bhatia goes big, and that is a clean strike! Floated up outside leg and this might have been designed to cramp the batter. Bhatia, though, charges in such a way that she still has swinging room and mauls it over deep mid wicket!

2
Kanwar to Bhatia, 2 runs, fullish outside off. Bhatia chips down the track and powers it towards long off. Litchfield misfields and that allows the new batter to get back for two

Kanwar to H Kaur, OUT, gone this time! Harmanpreet cannot take MI past 170! Kanwar slows it up really well and pulls her length back too, outside off. Harmanpreet advances, looking to go downtown but because she is not to the pitch of the ball, she ends up dragging it. Brings Litchfield into play and she gobbles up the chance quite low. Lower than what she would have wanted but GG have the MI skipper at last!

Kanwar to H Kaur, FOUR, Litchfield dives but in vain! Tossed up on leg stump. Harmanpreet hares down the track and hoicks it towards deep mid wicket. Litchfield sprawls to her left but cannot get anywhere near it!

MI up to 162 already. Can they inch closer to 175? Kanwar to bowl from around the wicket

Dottin to Sajana, FOUR, shot! Zipped in very full just outside off. Sajana goes back and across and then jams her bat down, squeezing it behind square. Not sure if she nutmegged herself but that will do very nicely for now!

Gautam to AB Kaur, OUT, Gardner pouches it safely and Amanjot's fun is over! Angled in on a length just outside off. Amanjot stands up tall on the front foot and looks to go straight. Gets a good piece of it but not enough to get it over Gardner, who scurries across to her left from long on and makes no mistake. A very handy cameo that has brought MI close to a 175-plus score!
