6.6 nicked and gone! Mishra has something to show for an excellent over! Seems like another slider, perhaps a little flatter in trajectory. Matthews plays the trajectory rather than the length and looks to cut. Gets rushed on the stroke and all she manages is a tickle through to Mooney. Brilliant from the bowler, brilliant from the keeper, and the Giants have their second wicket! 46/2
2.5 Kerr has run herself out - oh dear! What work by Ash Gardner, though - simply superb! Another in-swinger, bowled very full on off. Kerr tips it to mid on and calls for the single. She seems to be running on quicksand, though, and was always going to be in trouble with a direct hit. And that is exactly what Gardner comes up with. A laser-guided throw at the bowler's end and the Kerr experiment falls flat for the second game running! 17/1
13.4 goes straight up, and Gardner breaks through like she always does! This is slowed up tantalizingly outside off. NSB looks to swipe it across the line but gets done in the flight. Plays too early, meaning that the ball loops up tamely off the leading edge. Gardner calls early, settles under it and completes a fairly regulation catch. A threatening stand broken, and the Giants will be fairly pleased! 105/3
19.2 gone this time! Harmanpreet cannot take MI past 170! Kanwar slows it up really well and pulls her length back too, outside off. Harmanpreet advances, looking to go downtown but because she is not to the pitch of the ball, she ends up dragging it. Brings Litchfield into play and she gobbles up the chance quite low. Lower than what she would have wanted but GG have the MI skipper at last! 166/5
16.5 Gardner pouches it safely and Amanjot's fun is over! Angled in on a length just outside off. Amanjot stands up tall on the front foot and looks to go straight. Gets a good piece of it but not enough to get it over Gardner, who scurries across to her left from long on and makes no mistake. A very handy cameo that has brought MI close to a 175-plus score! 138/4

19.6 run out to end the innings, and MI finish just one run short of 180! Fired in full just outside off. Bhatia charges down the track and swings for the hills. Slices it towards cover, where Fulmali puts down the catch. Dottin gathers the ball as it is bobbling away and fires it at the batter's end, catching Bhatia short as she was looking to pinch the second. A frenetic end to a frenetic innings! 179/6

3.1 Matthews breaks through straightaway! What a moment in the game! Back of a length outside off and this seems to just stick in the surface. Mooney, trying to force the issue through the off side, cannot keep it down and pops it straight to Gupta at extra cover. MI are thrilled to bits; Mooney, not quite! 15/1
5.5 sharp work by Bhatia, but was it sharp enough?! She looks quite confident! Zipped in full and wide, perhaps pre-empting Gautam's charge. She has a hurried swish at it but misses and that gives Bhatia the chance to whip the bails off. Gautam cannot regain her ground in time, and the Giants lose their second! 40/2

8.2 massive appeal, and that looks very, very close! Kerr has shouted her lungs out appealing, and MI go upstairs! Beautifully-disguised googly, pitching on a full length outside off and spining back in sharply. Deol looks for the slog-sweep and misses to get rapped on the back leg. Seemed pretty adjacent and the only thing that could save Deol her is if she got a nick on it. Nothing on UltraEdge. Ball Tracking now, and the ball is missing leg stump. And off stump. Because it is absolutely demolishing middle stump. Kerr makes a difference again! 54/4
6.2 and that is exactly where the ball goes! Superb captaincy, superb bowling, and this is a big, big wicket! Back of a length outside off. Gardner nibbles at it with minimal footwork and against a bowler of Ismail's class, that is always asking for trouble. The ball floats off the outside edge towards Matthews, who lunges forward and gets her fingers under the ball. Clean catch, and the GG skipper has to go! 41/3
10.5 Ismail does the job yet again, and Litchfield outwits herself in the end! Slower ball on a fullish length on middle and off. Litchfield, like earlier in the over, shapes for the lap. Does not pick the variation, though, meaning she is early on the stroke this time. Makes no contact and hears the death rattle soon after. Litchfield is livid as she storms off and maybe, just maybe, the smarter play might have been to play Ismail out or look for more conventional options. Nevertheless, another huge moment in the game! 70/5

13.1 Kerr cleans up Dottin, and she lets out a huge celebratory cry! Fizzed through on a length on middle and off. Dottin plants her front foot outside the line, looking to sweep it behind square. Gets too far across, though, which means she cannot access the ball in the end, and the ball then has a clear path through to the stumps. A timely wicket for the Mumbai Indians and that makes the Giants' task much more arduous! 92/6
16.6 oh my word - Amelia Kerr, you are an absolute genius! She has been smashed all around the park this over but right at the end, she holds her nerve and produces a moment of pure magic. Lobs it up outside off, enticing another big shot. Fulmali gives in to that temptation but does so without getting to the pitch of the ball. Skews it off the outer half of the bat and Kamalini makes no mistake at short third. Those in the GG dugout stand up and applaud - an extroardinary innings has come to an end, but from their POV, they are still far from the finish line! 142/7
19.2 inside edge onto the stumps and Matthews has come up clutch like she has done so many times in her career before! Fizzed in on a back of a length on middle and off. Simran charges down the track and then swings for the hills. Loses her shape completely and the ball trickles off the bottom-edge into the stumps. A head-in-hands moment for Simran, who trudges off; Matthews, meanwhile, a picture of calmness! 168/9
19.1 a massive miscue, and Matthews puts it down, but MI get a run-out somehow - it is all happening at the Brabourne Stadium! Back of a length just outside off. Simran gives herself room and tries to tonk it into tomorrow. Only gets distance and Matthews tries to settle under it to the right of the stumps at the bowler's end. She makes a mess of the catch and does not even get her hands to it. GG sense this as a chance to sneak in a second but Matthews holds her nerve enough to relay the throw to the bowler's end. Amanjot does the rest, and Kanwar is caught short trying to smuggle a second! 168/8

19.6 oh dear - what an end to a manic game of cricket! And it is the Mumbai Indians who triumph and their spotless streak against the Giants remains without a blemish, along with their invincible record at the Brabourne Stadium! This game has seen everything and it ends, rather fittingly, with a No.11 trying to reverse-scoop and then changing her stroke, ultimately finishing up as a left-handed batter trying to cut. Makes no contact at all and the keeper gathers and whips off the bals - with Mishra apparently outside her crease - to bring an end to one of the craziest WPL contests in recent times. Away from all the drama, though, the Giants, who have done exceedingly well to qualify, will have to do it the hard way to win the entire thing; MI, on the other hand, have their top-of-the-table hopes still in their hands! 170/10
