8:55pm The Capitals have the 160-plus total Lanning wanted at the toss. That said, they will be a touch disappointed at having only gotten to 163. At 105-2 (inside 13 overs), with Lanning and Rodrigues at the crease, they seemed primed for more. Lanning, though, fell first, and Rodrigues followed soon after. Sutherland and Jonassen found the fence a few times but neither could bat through, meaning that all the momentum was lost before the last two overs.

It could have and perhaps should have been a lot worse for the Giants, given the number of catches they dropped and the amount of times they misfielded. Credit, however, must be given to their bowlers, who kept at it and kept taking wickets throughout. Meghana was the standout, bagging four. Gardner popped up with a couple of scalps too, with Kanwar and Kashyap chipping in with a wicket apiece.

Considering their struggles with the bat so far, 164 will not be an easy chase. But if they are to turn this campaign around, this presents the perfect opportunity to do so. Join us in a bit for the run-chase!
