That's all the MLC action for the day. Thank you for tuning in. Please join us again tomorrow for the Doubleheader Day. Until then, this is Rashad Mahbub signing on behalf of Harshith Gowda. Goodbye.

Sikandar Raza: "[Preparation for the run chase] I think a lot of the talking was done before that. My only thing was that I've been in these positions quite a lot of times, in different comps as well, but we've managed to pull through, because that's where the true character is tested. We are all very skillful, and nobody can question that. That's why we are here. But today is when the backs are against the wall that we have to come out punching. And if the result hasn't gone our way, I would have still been very proud of the way we batted, because batting has been our Achilles heel in the first five games. [Last 24 hours] I think those are the things you have to deal with. We all know how Franchise Cricket is; these things can happen. It can happen to anybody. Sometimes you have to retire a block as well. I mean, Fletchie [Andre Fletcher] got a 100 and had to retire because it's for the betterment of the team as well. So the management thought that we had to make a few decisions, and they ended up making those decisions. I know after winning, it looked like it was a master stroke, but regardless of whoever leads this team, everybody out there, from what I have seen, and I can confidently say that we lead ourselves out there. We try and make life easier for our teammates, and we back one another to the wall, and today is suddenly the case where we said our backs are against the wall, and today's not just a battle of skills. It's a battle of character as well. I thought when we came out in the Powerplay, we have been looking at the stat as well, that we are the lowest Powerplay team as well, and a lot of the teams have won the game or killed the game in the first six overs the way they batted. So we said that whatever happens, we're going to go hard from ball one. And I thought 238, whatever the total was, was a perfect time for us to just say, You know what, we've got nothing to lose as well, and we're going to go all guns blazing. And I thought that's what we did very well today. And credit to Hetty, the way he finished. I still think we didn't play our best game. And just to know that we haven't played our best game and won this game, I'm very excited for the next few games. [Evolution of T20 cricket] To be honest with you, there is so much franchise cricket that has happened and so much skill on display these days. Small boundaries. Wicket was a lot better today. The wind wasn't such a big factor as well, and all these powerful hitters, and also with the introduction of T10 Cricket as well. Now the batters and bowlers are not scared to execute their skills in whoever managed to execute their skills a lot better than the opposition will end up winning the game so I think just the evolution of T20, cricket, the fact that there's so many leagues and boys are constantly playing T20 format, all around year I think that's one of the reasons why the skill level is so high now."

Most Valuable Player, Shimron Hetmyer: "This one is one of the best [knocks] because of the fact that we were basically backed against the wall in a situation where we really needed to win. And I'm still kind of reminiscing over the last game, because I really thought we should have crossed the line in the last game as well. So I'm really happy to be here and to be out in the park to make sure that we cross the line this time. [Big scores] I think prayers always help. My wife always tells me that it doesn't make sense for you to do things, do things on your own. Just make sure to pray before you do anything. And I think today, as well, is one of those days where I just went to a really clear mind. If we aren't going to get there, take it as close as possible and as deep as possible. And I guess today was just one of those days where we crossed the line. [Statement to the other franchise teams for batting up the order] I would not comment on that. Nikhil. I think that [injury] actually gave me a little bit of help, to be honest, so I didn't have to run too much, but right now I'm just gonna head back to the ice bath and make sure that I'm good for tomorrow."

Nicholas Pooran: "It's a tough one. Making 238 and losing a game of cricket. Kudos to Hetty, he played a brilliant innings, but catches win matches. [Bowling execution] Again, just simple. We bowl to the big side as much as possible. Either we bowl into the wicket, or we execute our yorker as we go wide as possible. In this day and age, quality batters, if you keep bowling slot, you're gonna get hit for six. And we have been doing that consistently, and we paid the price there. It's just one of the seasons. Winning and losing are really contagious. We just need to get those two points, which are most important, and hopefully, we get momentum. The batters are trying as much as possible. The bowlers are trying as well. But when it comes to staging tournaments, if you can't execute as a group, then obviously we gotta pay the price. In the MLC, there are a lot of international players, really good local players, and they're playing really well. You can see the Tajinder today, the way he played. That was a really brilliant inning. So you can't take anyone for granted in these tournaments, bowling wins matches for you, to win tournaments for you, and to defend to 238, we felt like we were writing a game there. We can do much more as a batting group there. But again, we paid the price for poor bowling. [Returning to runs] Finally, it is about time, but again, scoring runs and losing don't really make sense. It doesn't feel good at the end of the day, but I'm gonna continue trying, and hopefully, we can get on a momentum somehow."

11:05 pm What a match we've just witnessed! It was packed with runs, massive sixes, powerful hitting, and twists at every turn. The Orcas made some big changes, with a new head coach and captain, right before the match, and it really paid off! Right at the start, Potgeiter dropped a catch of Shayan in the first over. Then, Josh Brown, who replaced Warner in the lineup, was out in the second over cheaply. After that, Kyle Mayers took charge in the Powerplay, smashing Bracewell for two sixes and a four. But the Orcas lost their other opener in the fourth over, ultimately both the openers falling to Trent Boult. Sikandar Raza, in his first game as Seattle Orcas captain, promoted himself up the order and played an amazing innings. He hit 7 boundaries in a row, scoring 30 runs off just 9 balls before heading back to the dugout. Mayers was also looking good, hitting 37 runs off 20 balls before he was dismissed. Even with wickets falling, the Orcas stayed in the game thanks to Heinrich Klaasen in the middle, but he didn't last long either. Then came a crucial moment: Tajinder dropped a catch of Hetmyer in the 11th over, and that proved to be very expensive. Hetmyer was left to fight almost single-handedly. He even hurt his groin and struggled with the injury, but he delivered an incredible innings! Hetmyer found it tough to rotate the strike but stayed in his crease, kept hitting boundaries, and kept the Orcas' hopes alive. This turned out to be the highest run-chase in MLC history, and Hetmyer's 97 runs were his second-highest score in T20s. In the end, it felt like the slow batting from MI New York in their last three overs cost them dearly. While Boult and Ugarkar bowled brilliantly, the other bowlers gave away too many runs.

Ravi: "As a MINY supporter, the bowling quality for the team has really dropped significantly over the last season. Countless overpitched balls and that too at key moments. Can't recall a single instance this season where they have conceded less than 180."

Pollard to Hetmyer, SIX, Oh my lord he has done it! Hetmyer didn't let his injury stop him. He almost single-handedly turned the game around and is a hero, getting his team the tough win right at the last moment! Full and overpitched ball on middle-leg channel, Hetmyer gets down on one knee, throws his bat at it with full force and full swing, sends it flying high over his favorite area, behind square leg, clears the fences with ease and starts celebrating, throws his helmet in the air. The Orcas players sprint in to celebrate with Hetmyer. Afterward, Pollard gives Hetmyer a warm hug, following the handshakes.

One big hit away, can Hetmyer do it?

Pollard to Hetmyer, 2 runs, Slower widish length ball outside off, throws his bat at it and swings it away to widish deep mid wicket area, Hetmyer has to go back at strike, struggles to run between the wickets, jogs and hobbles back to the crease. Pooran's throw breaks the stumps at the striker's end, but Hetmyer covered his ground just in time!

8 runs from 2 deliveries.

Oh dear. That looked like going well above the head of Hetmyer. Harsh call in my opinion.

Pollard to Hetmyer, no run, Dot balls piling up! Slower bouncer ball on the stumps, angling in on middle-leg, Hetmyer attempts to play the swivel pull shot, beaten by the lack of pace and does not connect, looks towards the square leg umpire expecting the wide delivery.

Right, Hetty versus Polly now. 8 needed from 3, around the wicket
