What an innings by Krishnamurthi to take his side over the line. These two teams will meet again on Thursday in the qualifier and we will live nice and early to get things running. That will be it from us tonight. Until next time, this is me Ashish Pant signing off on behalf of Deivarayan Muthu and Binoy George. Ciao!

NSB: "What's a match! Definately USA is future hub of the cricket. "

Yannick: "I am impressed and shocked. I thought Freedom's superior bowling would have trumped Unicorn's batting. "

Unicorns captain Corey Anderson: [On Krishnamurthi] That was incredible. I am not surprised. We have seen glimpses of him. He is only 20 and has got a mature head on his shoulders. We got decent depth in our group. Pretty good game in the end. We still have jobs to do. [On the win] We just want to continue with the momentum. [On Hassan Khan] He has been a gem for us this season. We have seen the talent he has. He can float around in the middle order and can be good with the ball. [On what to take from this win] The habit of winning. You try and take what you can. We have to be prepared well and get the guys fit for Thursday.

Freedom captain Steven Smith: We played quite nicely. We were in for a big score, but 177 was a pretty reasonable chase. they batted very well. Was a good game of cricket. [Batting approach] Just take the game on. Travis has been exceptional in the last 12-18 months. He played second fiddle tonight. We feed off each other. [What went wrong with the bowling] Bit too early. They batted very well tonight. It was wet out there and slippery, it was challenging for the bowlers. They batted very well. Plenty to learn.

Sanjay Krishnamurthi is the Player of the Match: I decided to go hard form the beginning because we were chasing a lot of the runs. Took my chances. I have worked hard on my mental side of the game. The left-arm spinners it was not turning much, so was trying to keep a calm head

Presentation time

Josh Inglis: Pretty happy with that. Would have liked to be there at the end. Sanjay was great. I just tried to watch the ball and swing hard. [The reverse hits] I do train and lot. I don't have the power of some of the other guys. [Win] This gives us a lot of the confidence and we are ready for qualifier 1. They [Freedom] have played great cricket and are top of the ladder for a reason. But we are very confident going into the qualifier. [Krishnamurthi's knock] Outstanding. He has shown a lot of promise and he has worked very hard.

11.29pm A first loss for Washington Freedom, and it has come against their opponents who they will meet again in Qualifier 1 on July 25. What confidence this win will give to San Francisco Unicorns. Freedom had romped to 174 for 3 in 15.3 overs before rain came falling. That brought an end to Freedom's innings early and the revised target for Unicorns was 177 in 14 overs. Freedom seemed to be in control after reducing Unicorns to 45 for 2 in the fifth over. But out came Inglis and slammed 45 off 17. Sanjay Krishnamurthi then took over as he crashed 79 of 42 in a 77-run stand with Inglis off just 30 balls. Hassan Khan (32* off 11) and Krishnamurthi then added 55 off 22 fifth wicket to take Freedom over the line with relative ease. Freedom stay top of the table despite the loss.
