10.04pm: Good news from Dallas: the rain has stopped and the covers are coming off. The umpires are out in the middle to inspect the pitch and conditions. Netravalkar is warming up. We will have restart at 10.25pm. Rain has cut this to a 14-over game. Target is 177. Freedom's innings is done. Be back for SF Unicorns' chase. The exciting pair of Allen and Fraser-McGurk will open the batting for them. Don't go anywhere.

9.45pm Hello, again, it's still raining in Dallas and we have started to lose overs. ICYMI: The top-four teams have been locked in at this MLC and this game is just a dead rubber.

Wellington wiz Rachin Ravindra bagged a four-for in his last match and has played some sparkling cameos for Washington Freedom at the MLC this season. NZ's talent ID manager Paul Wiseman recently spoke to ESPNcricinfo about how Ravindra's success has had a knock-on effect at Wellington among other things

Hassan : "Why is Abrar not being selected in SF 11? Too good a bowler to leave out. Poor guy warming the bench everywhere."

9.30pm It is still raining in Dallas and we have now started to lose overs. Let's hope the rains stops soon and we get some cricket.

9.15pm Nothing much to report other than the steady drizzle is yet to relent. We might be in a for a longish delay, folks.

Krishna: "What have I seen in the scorecard? Smith scoring faster than Head for a fifty. Wow!" Yep, and here are some the highlights of his innings.

8.46pm Uh-oh, the rain has picked up and is now hard enough to stop play and the umpires have signalled for the covers to be brought out. The main pitch being covered for now with more covers coming out. We are in for a bit of a delay with the drizzle quite steady.

Jan: "Not trying to Jinx, but Gous is a very likeable player. His T20 talent was visible in the WC. Would love to see him be a part of IPL or BBL. His FC and LA stats are solid too. An asset as he is a top order keeper batter. "

Bikalpa Paudel: "Is it heavy or passing shower?" It is steady for now. Not a lot of wind to blow the clouds away as well

Drysdale to Gous, OUT, A direct hit from Tajinder Singh and Ravindra is a goner. Length outside off, Gous pushes straight to point. Ravindra is down in a flash probably too eager to get the strike back. Don't think there was a run there and he is not even in the frame as Tajinder's throw hit bullseye.
