10:16pm That will be all from us for tonight. We go again tomorrow as things heat up in Group B, with Bangladesh taking on Sri Lanka. Do join us for that game, and until then, from Chandan, Vairavan and myself (Shashwat), it is goodbye!

Mohammad Haris, Player of the Match: Feeling very good. Much needed innings for me and my side, happy to contribute. When we came here, it was looking good and flat. But when we batted, we were struggling. Good to post that total. (On his favoured batting spot) Whatever the team demands, I can accommodate. Even if they ask me to bat at 10, I will be happy to do it. (On playing aggressively) That was what I was doing from last 5-6 years for Pakistan and in the PSL. That is what I like. The skipper also told us to be aggressive.

Salman Ali Agha, Pakistan captain: With the bat, we still need to work. But with the bowling, it was outstanding. The spinners bowled really well, Shaheen in his second spell and Faheem also (bowled well). We have three spinners, and all are very different. We have Saim as well, he is outstanding with the new and old ball. When you come to UAE, you need to have a lot of spinners. (On how many they should have scored) It is hard to say but the way we started, we should have scored near 180. It is just a game of cricket, you never know (how it goes and how many you can score). (On the match against India) We have been playing really good cricket. Have been saying it again and again. We have been playing good cricket in the last 2-3 months and we just have to play good cricket. If we can execute our plans for a long enough period, we are good enough to beat any team.

Jatinder Singh, Oman captain: Restricting them under 160, it was really good, really proud of the boys - the way they bowled and fielded. The boys were bang on target, they executed the plans they discussed, they were 10/10. Our team is a lot better than what we performed today, and confident that we can do a lot better (in the upcoming games). (Plans for the India game next week) To back ourselves and play positive cricket. Just be in the present and not think about who is bowling to you.

9:55pm Well, it was a slow burn towards the end but the result never seemed in doubt, especially once Pakistan began tightening the screw. Ayub was excellent during the powerplay, with the rest of the spinners coming to the party once the field restrictions were lifted. Faheem and Shaheen also helped themselves to a few scalps, and this win will give Pakistan confidence heading into their upcoming assignments.

As for Oman, well, they just did not have enough firepower to truly mount a tilt at this score. Mirza looked good during his vigil but the rest of his teammates struggled, with only two others getting into double digits. And that, pretty much, sums up why they fell so short of Pakistan's total.

Abrar Ahmed to Shakeel Ahmed, OUT, holes out to long off, and that is all over Red Rover! This is fired in quicker on a length outside off. Shakeel skips down, trying to repeat the dose from earlier in the over but cannot quite get under it. Hits it well but flat and straight to Shaheen, who takes it reverse-cupped in front of his face. Pakistan do what Afghanistan, Bangladesh and India did across the first three days of this Asia Cup, and they are also on the board!
