3.17pm South Africa have declared and New Zealand are set a massive target of 426, which will be a new world record if they actually chase it down. The big total comes thanks to an unbeaten and impressive century from Verreynne, who made sure South Africa added over 200 runs to their overnight total when they were already five down. Not to forget Rabada's quickfire fifty studded with four sixes and as many fours. There wasn't much for the New Zealand bowlers to exploit from the track, batting looks pretty comfortable, but I was a bit surprised to not see Mitchell bowl at all, and de Grandhomme get only six overs.
Deepak Kumar: "Considering KG and Wiaan both just did well with the bat, I'm expecting both to come out and express themselves freely. I'm just happy how SA had come back here after the 95 all out.Don't care even if NZ chase this down, kudos to them if they do. "
Hamish: "I wouldn't rule out a draw just yet - it is still on the cards (just about). I think NZ have previously batted 133 overs or more to rescue a test 4 times, so not unheard of. And I don't think I could choose a better pitch to bat on for days 4 and 5. Rabada with the new ball and Maharaj will be key for SA "
Sahil: "Elgar should have declared earlier to get a few overs in before tea, so the batsmen would have to start twice, bad decision on his/coaches part seeing as they have more than enough runs "
SunilBsawta: "Verryenne, Sipamla, Rabada and Mulder- All getting their career best. Is this not a record in one innings apart from any other team doing it in their inaugural test."
