3.06pm South Africa will be very pleased with this total of 364 after the way the first session unfolded in which they lost four wickets. It looked like they wouldn't even get to 320 at one point, but the 62-run stand between Maharaj and Jansen frustrated New Zealand to no end. They kept bowling short and the batters kept putting them away for runs, scoring those 62 off just 79 balls to take them past 350. The sky has cleared a little bit now, it's breezy, and Srivathsa will be with you soon for New Zealand's reply.
Logan: ""Jamieson has looked off-colour this game, lacking a lot of pace and bite" I can't believe how often comments like this lead to wickets..."
Dillam: "That's a good score. Anytime someone bats first in NZ and gets around 350 is good. I wouldn't say they are in front just yet, but they have runs on the board."
Sahil: "Pitch is doing alot less than the last pitch where new zealand scored over 400, so don't think this is good enough and south africa will have to bowl out of their skins here "
