CricLover: "Looks like SM is back at it again on the bits and pieces player - he says Saha and Vihari tried to accelerate but Jadeja and Ashwin played differently. Agreed on the comments on Saha and Ashwin but wondering how Vihari's SR of 41 is full of intent while Jadeja's SR of 65 is not!" --- SM here being Sanjay Manjrekar. Rahul Gupta also points out that strangely, the TV commentators were talking about India batting a number of overs, while they seemed intent on reaching the 500-run mark.
4.03pm Ansh: "The plan should be 4 overs each from Shami and Ishant, followed by 6 overs each from the two spinners. Expect SA to be 45/2 at stumps" --- Won't be surprised to see a spinner, possibly Ashwin, with the new ball either. Remember Dean Elgar is one of their openers, and possibly the batsman most difficult to dislodge if he gets in
3:56pm Kohli signals the declaration, asks them to come back. That gives India 20 overs in theory. No real intent to slog out at the end from either end, but I suppose you could get away with that when you've made 502 on a pitch that's showing signs of turn and bounce. India's spinners won't be under pressure like South Africa's, that will give them more freedom to keep plugging away at their lines and lengths. Don't be surprised if we see substantial spells from them before stumps. Catch you in a bit.

Bardan: "Why isnt Faf bowling Elgar?? He took a wicket in the only over he's bowled!!" --- Gotta protect that strike rate
Purvesh: "Ash on a roll here. 0 off 13."
This could be the last over...

I see players in whites in the dressing room. Declaration around the corner, which is a gross injustice with Ishant still in the shed.
