2:33pm A stuttering innings that was held together by the skipper. Raza came in with Zimbabwe stagnating after the powerplay, and with the score reading 39-2, and he has done a decent job to get them past the 140-run mark. He found support from Burl, who produced a vital cameo, although the hosts, given Raza was at the crease during the final over, would have probably wanted a few more on the board, despite this being their third-highest T20I total against South Africa.

Speaking of South Africa, they will be pleased with their bowling effort. Burger and Ngidi bowled well with the new ball, with the former also producing an excellent 18th over that only went for four. Linde was the other standout bowler, giving away just ten runs in his three overs and bagging three wickets. That he also bowled the final over, only highlights how brilliant he was. The Proteas will be fancying their chances of knocking off this chase, although they will be mindful of this pitch probably not being as conducive to stroke-play. Join us in a bit for the second innings!

Ryan Burl: (On what was said during his partnership with Raza) Guilty of few too many dots up front. We had to find a way to reverse momentum. I said if we can run really, really hard to the sweepers, we can find boundaries along the way and then go hard at the end. It (the pitch) was a little bit on the slower side, a lower (from one end). Probably (our score is) a bit under-par. We have defended lower targets here before, and will be trying to do that again. Will be trying to take a leaf out of their book. Lungi and Nandre bowled really well up front, sticking to their plan and bowling back of a length (asking the batters to take on the square boundaries).

Linde to Sikandar Raza, 2 runs, this is another low full toss, tailing into the pads. Raza tugs it towards deep mid wicket and races back for two. Not the finish Zimbabwe would have had in mind, though, and they end up with just 141!

Linde to Sikandar Raza, no run, right into the blockhole just outside off. Raza swings at it with all his might but can only cloth it straight back to the bowler

Linde to Masakadza, 1 run, almost! Linde throws it up full and wide after seeing the batter advance. Masakadza stretches every sinew to get there and digs it out towards long on

Hat-trick ball coming up. Masakadza on strike. Over the wicket

Linde to Munyonga, OUT, another simple catch on the fence, and Linde, all of a sudden, is on a hat-trick! Linde pushes this in very full, and it ends up being a low full toss just outside leg. Munyonga has a swipe at it but does not generate the requisite power to clear the fence. Simelane does the rest at deep backward square leg, and Raza remains off strike!

Munyonga to try his luck now. Does he take the single and get his captain back on strike, or does he look for the big hit? Let's find out

Linde to Musekiwa, OUT, goes straight up, and taken! Speared in again, full on leg stump. Musekiwa looks to manufacture something down the ground but cuts across it a little too much. Hendricks darts in from long off, keeps his eyes on the ball all the way and completes the catch just on the edge of the ring in the mid off region. Musekiwa departs with Zimbabwe still 12 adrift of 150!

Linde to Sikandar Raza, 1 run, fired in full on the pads. Raza gets down on one knee and hoicks it towards deep backward square leg

Right. 150 still very much on the cards. Do SA go for Simelane? Or do they take a punt on spin? Looks like it will be the latter, with Linde to bowl. Around the wicket

Bosch to Sikandar Raza, (no ball) 1 run, oh dear! Rib-high full toss on leg stump and Raza has actually done well to help this away towards deep backward square leg to bring up his fifty. No ball called too, although it will be Musekiwa on strike

1
Bosch to Musekiwa, 1 run, full just outside off. Musekiwa, sitting deep in his crease, has a massive mow across the line. Squirts it off the inside edge towards deep backward square leg

Bosch to Musekiwa, FOUR, deft touch! More or less the perfect wide yorker, but Musekiwa's shot is just too good. He opens his bat face late and scorches it past backward point!

2
Bosch to Musekiwa, 2 runs, low full toss on middle and leg. Musekiwa flicks it towards deep mid wicket, where Hermann, in trying to stop the second, takes his eyes off the ball and misfields, conceding two

1
Bosch to Sikandar Raza, 1 run, another full toss on middle and leg, and Raza, for some reason, decides against swinging at it fully. Nurdles it to long on and settles for a single

Just four off the 18th, but SA will have to bowl either a spinner or Simelane for one of these two remaining overs. Bosch for now

Burger to Burl, OUT, and Burger gets rid of Burl! Fullish delivery hung up outside off, asking Burl to fetch it. He backs himself to do so and clear long off, but does not quite get the shape right. Plonks it off the lower part of the bat and that brings Hermann into play at long off. He settles under the high ball and sends Burl back after a brisk cameo!

Simelane to Sikandar Raza, FOUR, streaky but guess what, they all count! This is fuller outside off and Raza throws the plumbing at it. Gets it nowhere near the middle of the bat but the ball races away off the inside edge, beating the keeper to his left!

Mustafa Moudi: "Sikandar Raza is Evergreen Player. No matter what, he always stands for his teams, whether Zimbabwe or League Teams. Dont know how will Zimbabwe fill his void once he retires !!"

Simelane to Sikandar Raza, SIX, right out of the screws! Fractionally short just outside off, and this sits up just the way Raza wants it to. He gets his front hip out of the way and clubs it over deep square leg!

Simelane to Burl, 1 run, safe again! Slower bumper outside off. Burl has a huge swipe across the line and skews it off the top edge towards deep backward square leg
