4.20pm England just don't know how to compile an old-school Test innings anymore, do they? But it's nothing if not compelling. That last-wicket stand has run Sri Lanka ragged, and they face a taxing 12-over stint before the close. I reckon that is 30 runs above par, given how much the ball is turning. Do Sri Lanka's batsmen have the courage of their convictions to respond in kind?

Richard Morris: "So, as Stokes is transmogrifying into Cook, Curran is turning himself into Stokes. Sounds like a win-win." I'd settle for that!

Steve: "66 balls were bowled in that final partnership, Anderson faced 12 (less than 20%), really poor game management from Sri Lanka." Very true. Anderson made 7 runs out of 60 too...

Perera to Curran, no run, flat and fierce to long on, and that could be a brilliant catch! Mathews stoops low, and emerges with the ball embedded in his palms, it's a stunning interception regardless of the catch, as that was travelling. He shrugs as he stands up, and the umpires call for a review. It's a very grainy image, so who knows what they can make of that. The soft signal was not out... aha, that's a better image, clearly bounces. On we go
