Alex: "why only a single test? this is a good contest and I for one would like to see both these teams playing more test cricket. plus if they are going to develop further then surely the more test cricket they play, the better?!" Yes, but hosting a Test is expensive. Yours truly wrote about the future of Tests for non-WTC teams. Please check it out here
3:44pm, Day 1, Innings Break: A major recovery from Ireland after being Muzarabani reduced them to 31 for 5. It was thanks to Lorcan Ticker, who made a quickfire 33, and then McBrine-Adair, who put on 127 crucial runs. Adair, who came in at No. 7, was the aggressor and made 78 of those runs. The pitch, that started with up-and-down movement, plus the pitch that was two-paced eased out, and the aggressive shot selection kept Ireland going. Muzarabani breathed fire though, to finish with 7 for 58 - the second-best figures from an Zimbabwean bowler.
