4:40pm That will be all from us for today. If you missed out on any of the action, Himanshu's report is your one-stop shop. We will be back tomorrow, nice and early and hope to have you company too. Until then, this is goodbye from Himanshu, Ranjith and myself!
4:35pm Isam chimes in that it is stumps on day two in Mirpur. So that will be that for the day. Bangladesh live to see another day, helped by this partnership ticking along for 42, with Mushfiqur's proactive approach a refreshing sight. Mahmudul, like he did in the first innings, has exuded calmness and composure (barring that wild hack off the last ball of the day) and Bangladesh will hope this pair can eat significantly into South Africa's lead.
The visitors, on the other hand, will want to come back energized tomorrow and with lots still on offer from the surface, are in the driver's seat. Rabada did most of the damage on day two, with Maharaj chipping in with the scalp of Shanto. Another good day with the ball tomorrow, and they will feel they can wrap this up, perhaps without even having to bat again.
4:33pm And to add to the drama, the umpires now deem the light is not good enough to continue. The players walk off and chances of a resumption seem minimal, given the light will only deteriorate.
Mushfiqur Rahim, Bangladesh's leading run-scorer in Test cricket, has also gone past 6000 runs
