6:18pm That will be all from us for this series and this game. The cricket in New Zealand is not done for the day, though, with the men's team taking on Pakistan in about an hour from now. Do join us for that game, and until next time, this is goodbye from Vairavan and myself. Take care!

Beth Mooney, Player of the Series: (On everything largely going right with the bat this series) They don't happen too often, so you take those games and series. Nice, little partnership there with Voll at the top. Nice to be able to contribute. She has been banging the door down in domestic cricket, have seen a bit of her behind the scenes and the way she hits the ball. To slot in and to do what she has been doing is nice. She obviously didn't want me to face a lot of balls today (smiles). We have a good blend of youth and experience (in the side), and up to us to keep up with them. We are super competitive, we are resourced really well, a great group of support staff who do a lot of hard work for us. Finding different ways to be competing, nice to have this production line of players (in Australia) and long may it continue.

Georgia Voll, Player of the Match: Nice to get the win, grinded the whole way (through my batting), tough work out there. (On the conditions) Got a few chances, which is always nice. Definitely ground it out for the 50 balls I faced, nice to get a few out (of the middle) in the end. When you grind your way through, finding different areas to score - that was probably the biggest thing today. Probably would have liked to strike a little quicker as well (smiles). Great team to be a part of. We spoke about having a lot of fun, we had a great time out there today. Close finish and nice to get past the finish line.

Tahlia McGrath, Australia captain: It is a nice feeling (winning 3-0), after a long season. We are really excited for a bit of a break coming up. We really committed to our style of play. We were outstanding with the bat. With the ball, missed our lengths a little (today) and a bit of improvement in the field. But overall, happy (with how the series went). There were a few nerves - they (Kerr and Green) batted well. Huge run out from Wareham and she does it time and again for us. Always looking at ways to improve, how we can push the game forward. Our next little progression is eyeing that ODI World Cup. Well-earned break, head home tomorrow, have some nice time off and then come back, with all eyes on the ODI World Cup.

Suzie Bates, New Zealand captain: We asked for a more complete and competitive performance and with the ball, we improved. With the bat, we took the game on, to get that close is pleasing. Catches win matches, and that is the most disappointing thing - that is something we pride ourselves on and that really let us down. Just a learning, if we are completely honest. The intensity that we field at (when at home) is probably not quite there. A reminder of how hard we have to work when we are not together. So proud of the batting unit. We have come hard at them in how we want to play the game, to play without fear and also be smart. That partnership was world-class and if we bat like that throughout, we can beat anyone. Our powerplay bowling, where we have taken some damage, we improved but it (the result) was not to be today. The all-round standard of their bowling and fielding…they (Australia) were world-class. They have set the standard and that is who teams are chasing. They have players who play franchise cricket all over the world and get put under pressure day in, day out. (On what is next) Really exciting - the 50-over World Cup in India, we are setting up nicely as an ODI team. There will be a decent break, hope the girls get away from the game because when we come back, we will have to be on our marks.

5:56pm Phew. What a game of cricket. It ebbed and flowed, but in the end, Australia just had enough runs to play with. That was also down to how well they squeezed NZ early in their innings. But when Green and Kerr got together, the complexion of the contest seemed to change. They put together the best-ever fifth-wicket stand for NZ in this format and made them dream of a historic run-chase.

Unfortunately, both perished in relative quick succession as the final few overs dawned, and NZ could not muster the requisite firepower to take them past the finish line. They will, no doubt, take heart from this performance, given how comprehensively they lost the first two matches. But the result, on the scoreboard, will reflect yet another Australian win, although they had to work awfully hard for this one. Sutherland was their most successful bowler, bagging her second-consecutive four-for, with Wareham, who was exceptional in the field, also very tidy.

Schutt to Carson, FOUR, four to finish the innings, but NZ fall just short of Australia's total, and the White Ferns have been swept away by Australia in this T20I series! Off-pace and into the slot on middle and off. Carson plants her front foot and smacks it over the bowler's head. The ball trickles into the fence, but that will not be enough. Not today, nor to salvage this series. Australia arrived, having never won a women's T20I series in this part of the world, and they go home with a nice, little whitewash over the world champions in their bag!

Schutt to Carson, no run, dot ball! Slower ball on a back of a length outside off. Carson has a big swish at it but swats away a few flies in the process

13 off 2. Two sixes needed for a Super Over

1
Schutt to Mair, 1 run, full toss outside off. Mair, shuffling across, is almost taken by surprise and gets pinged on the pads as she misses her hack. Rolls away for a leg bye
19.3
2
Schutt to Mair, 2 runs, angled into the stumps. Mair takes a step down the track and shanks it towards long on. Shanks it well enough from a NZ POV, though, and Carson hares back to the danger end for the second

Carson is at the other end, which might indicate that Halliday might not bat, having taken a blow to her right hand earlier in the day

Schutt to Mair, FOUR, a boundary for Mair, and NZ are not giving up yet! A touch short and offering just a hint of width. Mair gets her hands through the ball and cracks it past point!

Schutt to Mair, no run, back of a length on the stumps. Mair moves across, swipes at it but only connects with fresh air. Bounces just over the stumps

Andy: "Uncharacteristically sloppy here from the Aussies " -- But when push really came to shove, Wareham stood up and she has, almost single-handedly, turned this game around

Sutherland to AC Kerr, OUT, high up in the air, but Wareham is not going to drop that - not in a million years! Wareham at it again, Sutherland at it again, and Australia at it again! Takes all the pace off and hangs it up on a length outside off, asking Kerr to fetch it. She swings at it with all her might but the lack of pace is too hard to fight against. Picks out Wareham to perfection, and Australia tighten their grip on this contest further!

Sutherland to Mair, 1 leg bye, slanted in very full on the pads. Mair does not get bat on it and the ball rolls off the pads towards short fine leg

21 off 8, and Mair is in at 9. Sutherland is also on a hat-trick, by the way

W
Sutherland to Inglis, OUT, and Inglis is the latest batter out! Sutherland goes back-to-back! Cutter into the track outside off. Sticks in the surface and does not arrive as quickly as Inglis would have hoped. Too early into the flat-batted slap and McGrath completes the easiest of catches at mid off!

PM Inglis c McGrath b Sutherland 0 (1m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0

Inglis is the new batter in

Sutherland to JM Kerr, OUT, another wonderful bit of fielding by Georgia Wareham, and Australia chip away again! Slower ball on a length on the stumps. Jess winds up and swings for the hills. Heaves it towards deep mid wicket but guess who is stationed there. Wareham looks into the sun and still manages to judge the catch to perfection. Lunges forward to pick it up inches off the turf, and NZ have been rocked again!

Sutherland to AC Kerr, FOUR, Amelia starts the over with a four! This is a proper hit-me ball. A leg-stump full toss with square leg up. Amelia uses her wrists and whips it past square leg!

Garth to Green, 1 run, OUT, Georgia Wareham with a moment of absolute magic in the field, and this game swings again! Off-pace on a length on off. Green is deceived by the lack of pace and heaves it towards deep mid wicket. But oh my, Wareham has come up clutch just when her team needed her too. Green pushes for the second and might have made it, had Wareham not swooped in, picked it up one-handed and produced a direct hit out of nowhere at the batter's end. Stunning, stunning fielding and Australia probably nudge ahead again!

Garth to Green, FOUR, through McGrath, and that has hit the fence! Wide half-volley and Green, sitting deep into her crease, laces it towards extra cover. McGrath makes a meal of it, and NZ have a few bonus runs!

Keeper comes up now

Garth to Green, no run, slower ball on a full length just outside leg. Green has a huge swing at it and only connects with fresh air. Top delivery under pressure, and Green, having failed to connect, throws her head back in disappointment

Garth to AC Kerr, (no ball) 1 run, full outside off. Kerr goes back and across before mowing it towards deep mid wicket. And oh dear - Garth has overstepped. Not what Australia want at this stage...

Garth to AC Kerr, 2 runs, on a length just outside leg. Kerr moves across her stumps and scoops it past short fine leg. Harris tracks it down, though, and pulls it back

37 off 18. NZ have the momentum, Australia have the runs on the board. Who is winning this? Garth to bowl out

Dylan: "Green over the past couple of months has been by far nzs most in form batter. Even maybe the last couple of years, she's getting better with age. Her recent domestic stats show this too"

Wareham to Green, 2 runs, it is all happening here! Floated up again, on a length on leg stump. Green chips down the track and drags it towards deep square leg. The batters are both intent on the second, but they run into each other mid-way while trying the second run. King's throw to Wareham, though, is a touch wide, and Wareham cannot relay it back onto the stumps

39 off 19. NZ would love a boundary here

Wareham to AC Kerr, 1 run, tossed up on middle and off. Kerr skips down the track and drives it towards long off

Wareham to Green, 1 run, back of a length just outside off. Green hops back and taps it towards point. Calls for the single and Kerr has to hustle to make it

Wareham to Green, 1 wide, oh dear! Bowled a mile outside leg, and Mooney does well to get around to it. Called a wide, unsurprisingly

Wareham to AC Kerr, 1 run, was that a chance?! Floated up on leg stump. Kerr advances, takes it on the full and drills it back at the bowler. Wareham gets both hands to it but cannot hold on. That was a regulation chance for someone of her quality
