4:15pm Another typically bruising Australian batting display, although today, they were helped by the hosts' profligacy. New Zealand produced an entire catalogue of dropped catches, especially when Voll was the batter involved, and that cost them a fair bit. Voll got herself to 75, with all of the other batters chipping in. McGrath, batting for the first time this series, was not shabby either at the death.

NZ were much better in the powerplay, it must be said. But their fielding and catching, in particular, means they now have plenty to chase. There are no demons as such in this pitch, but 181 will comfortably be their highest score this series (if they get there). Advantage Australia at the break, and do join us in a bit to see if NZ can alter that!

Georgia Voll: (On her innings) I think I am going to head to the Lotto store and buy one (a lottery ticket). Nice to come out the other side, battle back for a bit and get us to a position to put on a score like that. It has been nice and easy to come in when a platform is set. Very easy to bat with Moons, and she makes it very easy to play my game. It was quite tough (at the start), their slower balls were tough to hit, bigger boundaries. The slower you bowl, harder you have to hit to get it to the boundary. If we can nail that (slower balls), and our lengths, we will be good.

Devine to Perry, FOUR, Perry finishes the innings with a boundary! Bumper at the stumps and Perry has read that like the morning daily. Rides the bounce, picks her spot and demolishes it between deep square leg and fine leg!

Devine to Perry, no run, massive lbw shout, and the finger goes up! Perry reviews, though! Zipped into the blockhole on middle and off. Seems to tail in and dip on Perry late, which causes her to play all around it. She gets smashed on the front boot and that looked very out in real-time. Possibly a review in hope than expectation. Okay, hang on. There is a spike when the ball is near the bat, and the third umpire reckons there is bat involved. Was that bat hitting ground? Either way, decision overturned, and Perry stays!

Devine to Perry, FOUR, NZ bleeding more runs! This is another hit-me ball. Attempted knuckle-ball that does not land, while also offering width. Perry eases it past cover!
19.3
2
Devine to Perry, 2 runs, low full toss on middle stump. Perry snaps her wrists into action and clips it past square leg. Plimmer runs around to her right from deep mid wicket and cuts it off
19.2
1
Devine to McGrath, 1 run, fullish outside off. McGrath backs away and scuffs it towards mid off, who misfields and makes the single much more comfortable

4
Devine to McGrath, FOUR, loose ball and duly punished! Juicy thigh-high full toss on leg stump. McGrath opens up her stance and smokes it over square leg!

Uh-oh, NZ have been penalized for having a slow over-rate, and can now have only three outside the ring

Mair to Perry, no run, back of a length wide outside off. Perry goes swishing at it and only grabs a handful of fresh air

Mair to Perry, 2 runs, shortish outside off. Perry stands up tall and tugs it powerfully towards long on. Green makes up ground to her right, dives and saves two

Mair to McGrath, 1 run, slower ball on a length outside off. McGrath goes back and across before dragging it towards deep mid wicket

Mair to McGrath, FOUR, gorgeous stroke! Almost the perfect wide yorker but McGrath's shot is just too good. She opens her bat face at the last moment and scythes it past backward point!

Mair to McGrath, FOUR, just short, and it goes for four too! Off-pace on a back of a length outside off. McGrath sits deep in her crease and plunders it towards deep mid wicket. Amelia Kerr prioritizes the catch and once she cannot get there, she cannot prevent the boundary either!

Mair to Sutherland, OUT, miscued, and taken eventually by Mair! Cutter on a length wide outside off. Sutherland tries to drag it into the on side and cuts across it too much. The ball swirls and swirls in the air. Mair calls for it early and snaffles up the chance, almost one-handed above her head in the end. Either way, that is another wicket for NZ, and another catch that has been taken!

AC Kerr to Perry, FOUR, Watch. The. Spin. On the shorter side on leg stump. Perry hops back, swivels and pulls it towards deep backward square leg. Carson does not account for the spin, overruns it and lets in four!

AC Kerr to Perry, no run, floated up very full outside off. Perry, despite advancing, cannot get under it nor take it on the full, and drills it straight to extra cover

AC Kerr to Sutherland, 1 run, shortish on leg stump. Sutherland opens up her stance and hacks it towards deep square leg
17.2

AC Kerr to Sutherland, no run, slower on a length on middle and off. Sutherland walks across and then swipes at it. Seems to miss it altogether, with the ball flicking the flap of the front pad on the way

AC Kerr to Perry, 1 run, back of a length on leg stump. Perry picks the googly off the pitch and tucks it off her pads towards deep backward square leg

Right. Three overs left. Can Australia get up to 180? That might be a daunting score on this surface
