Alabama rolled over another opponent to stay put as the nation's top team, and ESPN 150 prospects in attendance came away impressed. Robert Foster was the only 150 prospect on an official and was so blown away that he said the Tide will be a mainstay in his top three. Montravius Adams was also in attendance and his visit had him thinking about playing in the Tide's 3-4 defense. Those stories and more make our list of the top 10 recruiting stories from Week 9 in college football.
Top 10 Recruiting Stories
1. Robert Foster high on Alabama after official
The University of Alabama, the nation's No. 1 team, looked good on the field with a 38-7 win over Mississippi State on Saturday, and it also had a good weekend off the field in recruiting. The Crimson Tide hosted a trio of ESPN 150 stars -- Montravius Adams, Robert Foster and Dee Liner -- among others.
Of all the visitors, Foster was the lone official visitor of the weekend. The 6-foot-3 wide receiver from Monaca, Pa., tweeted that he loved his visit to Alabama while on the way to the airport. He still plans to take official visits to Ohio State and Pittsburgh before he makes a decision between those three schools.

2. Win over Florida goes a long way with UGA recruits on the fence

ATHENS, Ga. -- Georgia's win over Florida was the Bulldogs' most significant victory in the last five years. What effects the win will have on the recruiting trail remain to be seen. Some Georgia targets knew that vocal parts of the Bulldogs' fan base were unhappy with Mark Richt after the loss to South Carolina. Job insecurity is a disease to a recruiting agenda. Saturday's win means the Bulldogs are the odds-on favorites to win the SEC East for the second year in a row. A mollified fan base and the chance to play for a championship will make Georgia's sales pitch more effective.
The first result we might see would be a firming up of the commitments Georgia has. The Bulldogs have had four decommitments in the 2013 class -- not unusual with a class that could grow as large as 34. The Bulldogs have a lot of holes to fill and each commit that takes a visit to a rival program is cause for concern. One recruit who appeared to be wavering was ESPN 150 athlete Tramel Terry (Goose Creek, S.C./Goose Creek).

3. Montravius Adams OK with playing in 3-4 after Bama visit
COLUMBUS, Ga. -- After defeating Columbus (Ga.) Pacelli 47-14 on Friday, ESPN 150 prospect Montravius Adams (Vienna, Ga./Dooly County) admitted that at the moment, he felt more comfortable in a 4-3 defense than a 3-4. Two programs in pursuit of Adams -- Alabama and Georgia -- run a 3-4 base defense, and another -- Florida -- also utilizes three-man defensive lines quite often. On Saturday, Adams was in Tuscaloosa, where the Crimson Tide staff made sure to showcase their plans to use him.
"Coach [Nick] Saban and Coach Rumph told me they want to use me like Marcell Dareus and keep me on the outside, Adams said. Seeing them play and thinking about that made me think more about the 3-4, because a lot of teams in the NFL use that. Alabama is still pretty high on my list. As long as I am able to make a lot of plays, it does not matter what scheme I play in."

4. Ricky Seals-Jones sports Texas A&M gloves in first game back

SEALY, Texas -- For a little more than a quarter, Sealy (Texas) High School receiver Ricky Seals-Jones was himself again, making big plays and taking over a football game.
After seven weeks on the sideline, the result of a dislocated kneecap suffered on Sept. 6, the 6-5, 230-pound ESPN 150 receiver showed no ill effects of the injury that kept him out of action. He showed the trademark explosiveness Friday night that has made him one of the nation's most coveted prospects, while catching a touchdown pass and returning an interception for another score.
And he even raised some eyebrows with his choice of gloves -- adidas maroon-and-white adizero "Smoke Texas" A&M gloves -- before he was sidelined again, this time with an injury much less serious than his last.

5. Leon McQuay III enjoys visit despite missing game

On Saturday, the Oregon Ducks blew out another opponent in a game that was essentially over by the end of the first quarter. They put on a show for the fans, but unfortunately the one official visitor they hosted this weekend was delayed in getting to Eugene in time for the game.
Even though the No. 40 player in the ESPN 150 missed the game, safety Leon McQuay III of Seffner (Fla.) Armwood, made it to the Oregon campus with his parents Saturday afternoon. McQuay stayed in Eugene until Monday to take full advantage of the visit after the long trip from Florida.

6. Nebraska hosts big group for Michigan win
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska celebrated the 50-year anniversary of the start of its NCAA-record sellout streak by defeating Michigan 23-9 on Saturday night in front of a significant group of recruits, including ESPN 150 members Demore'ea Stringfellow (Moreno Valley, Calif./Rancho Verde), a Washington-committed receiver, and safety Priest Willis (Tempe, Ariz./Marcos de Niza).
The Huskers, though, lost a pledge over the weekend from defensive tackle Christian LaCouture, who moved with his family from Texas to attend high school at Lincoln Southwest and plans to graduate in December. LaCouture said he plans to visit LSU this weekend.

7. Oklahoma makes impression on recruits despite loss

It was a mixed bag for the Sooners this recruiting weekend. On one hand, a lot of top commits scheduled to make official visits had to pull out at the last minute.
But on the other, the Sooners made several quality impressions on recruits that did make the trip for OU's loss to Notre Dame.
It was the first time ESPN 150 defensive tackle Greg Gilmore (Hope Mills, N.C./South View) got to see the OU campus, and he called the experience "mind-blowing."

8. Washington continues to send strong message to recruits

For the second time this season, Washington took advantage of an opportunity to send a message to the prospects the program is recruiting by knocking off a top-10 opponent on the Huskies' home field.
After watching Washington beat Oregon State 20-17, Bellevue (Wash.) teammates Sean Constantine (a Washington commit) and Myles Jack (a UCLA commit) continue to feel the program is pointed in the right direction.
They shared the same sentiment with the other local prospects who were in the stands on unofficial visits. The Huskies' win also impressed sophomore quarterback Ross Bowers (Bothell, Wash./Bothell) and junior running back Devante Downs (Mountlake Terrace, Wash./Mountlake Terrace), among others.

9. Arizona picks up big win in front of top targets
Arizona picked a great weekend to post its biggest win of the season. The three-point win over the USC Trojans came in front of dozens of recruits. Verbal commitments, such as cornerback Derek Babiash (Poway, Calif./Poway), wide receiver Nate Phillips (Chandler, Ariz./Basha), Maurice Lee (Tempe, Ariz./Marcos De Niza), offensive tackle Jacob Alsadek (Del Mar, Calif./Torrey Pines), linebacker Ryan Dunn (Danville, Calif./San Ramon Valley), running back Zach Green (Ventura, Calif./St. Bonaventure), athlete Devin Holiday (San Marcos, Calif./Mission Hills) and wide receiver Paul Elvira (Tempe, Ariz./Marcos De Niza) were in attendance, and several of them said there was plenty of talk about how excited they were to join Rich Rodriguez' program next season.

10. Richy Anderson commits to Penn State

Three-star tailback Richy Anderson">Richy Anderson (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) decommitted from Maryland on Sunday night and became Penn State's 12th commitment of the 2013 class.
Anderson took an official visit to Happy Valley for the Ohio State game Saturday, and he knew by noon Sunday he needed to switch his loyalty.
"The sanctions don't matter to me," he said Sunday night. "Being in that environment, it just proves it. No, you can't play in a bowl game. And, no, they lost a lot of scholarships -- but the tradition and everything is still there. It's not just about football.
"And they were down big in the fourth quarter, and nobody left. It was just amazing. It's more than football there, and it's crazy."
