A total of 72 players in the current ESPN 300 remain uncommitted. With signing day (Feb. 3) drawing closer on the horizon, here's the way the recruitment of each player is trending:
1 -- Rashan Gary (DT, Paramus, NJ/Paramus Catholic High School, 6-4, 287) -- The tea leaves have long said Gary is on a collision course with Michigan, but with other heavyweights including Ole Miss and Clemson involved, this one could come down to the final days.
Prediction: Michigan -- Tom VanHaaren
5 -- Willie Allen (OT, New Orleans, LA/John Curtis Christian High School, 6-7, 300) -- Allen has focused on three schools -- LSU, TCU and Georgia -- but it would be one of the biggest recruiting upsets of the year if he went anywhere but with his home-state Tigers.
Prediction: LSU -- Jeremy Crabtree
7 -- Rashard Lawrence (DT, Monroe, LA/Neville High School, 6-3, 309) -- Lawrence has taken visits to UCLA and Ohio State but will take a visit to LSU in January. The home-state Tigers appear to have the advantage at this point.
Prediction: LSU -- Derek Tyson
12 -- Lyndell "Mack" Wilson (OLB, Montgomery, AL/Carver High School, 6-2, 236) -- Wilson has a top three of Florida, Georgia and Alabama and will officially visit all three in January with the Gators holding his last visit. It's a close race, but we feel Wilson will end up staying close to home.
Prediction: Alabama -- Derek Tyson
13 -- Derrick Brown (DT, Sugar Hill, GA/Lanier High School, 6-4, 322) -- January visits to Georgia, Auburn and Tennessee will be huge after having already tripped to Alabama and Mississippi State. A national signing day announcement awaits.
Prediction: Georgia -- Gerry Hamilton
15 -- Devin Asiasi (TE-Y, Concord, CA/De La Salle High School, 6-5, 272) -- January visits to Washington, Michigan and USC are on deck after he took an official visit to UCLA and an unofficial to Alabama. The Wolverines will push hard after missing out on Isaac Nauta, and though this has been a recruitment with the Trojans out front from the beginning, things could get interesting with Marques Tuiasosopo moving over to UCLA.
Prediction: USC -- Erik McKinney
17 -- Trayvon Mullen (CB, Coconut Creek, FL/Coconut Creek High School, 6-2, 170) -- The remaining "must-have" recruit for Florida State in the 2016 cycle is not trending the way of the Seminoles. The No. 2 corner in the class will be at Clemson this weekend and LSU on Jan. 22. He has already visited TCU. This one looks good for the Tigers, the Bengal Tigers that is.
Prediction: LSU -- Gerry Hamilton
27 -- Brandon Jones (S, Nacogdoches, TX/Nacogdoches High School, 6-0, 193) -- Jones represents a rarity in today's Texas recruiting landscape -- a good old-fashioned battle between the Longhorns and Aggies. A&M has had the lead for the longest time, but Texas is making a late run and is closing the gap.
Prediction: Texas A&M -- Jeremy Crabtree
29 -- Mecole Hardman (ATH, Elberton, GA/Elbert County Comprehensive High School, 5-11, 176) -- Hardman has Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Miami, Clemson, Michigan and TCU remaining in the mix, with a decision set for signing day.
Prediction: Georgia -- Gerry Hamilton
35 -- Kristian Fulton (CB, Metairie, LA/Archbishop Rummel School For Boys, 6-0, 172) -- Fulton has a top three of LSU, Florida and Arkansas and will visit all three in January. The Gators have made a big push for Fulton, but it will be tough to beat out the home-state Tigers.
Prediction: LSU -- Derek Tyson
37 -- Mique Juarez (OLB, Torrance, CA/North Torrance High School, 6-2, 226) -- UCLA has been the team to beat since even before Juarez publicly decommitted from USC. Ole Miss made a powerful run into this recruitment, and Alabama is still hanging around as well, but the Bruins have the chance to add Juarez to what could be the conference's best haul of linebackers in more than a few years.
Prediction: UCLA -- Erik McKinney
40 -- Nigel Knott (CB, Madison, MS/Germantown High School, 5-11, 174) -- Knott has Oregon and Alabama at the top of his list with Ole Miss and Mississippi State remaining in play. Knott prefers Oregon, while his family prefers closer to home.
Prediction: Alabama -- Gerry Hamilton
41 -- Shyheim Carter (CB, Kentwood, LA/Kentwood High School, 6-0, 177) -- Carter has Alabama, Georgia and Ole Miss in contention with others remaining on the periphery. A Nick Saban vs. Kirby Smart battle for one of the top corners in the country.
Prediction: Alabama -- Gerry Hamilton
42 -- Deontay Anderson (S, Manvel, TX/Manvel High School, 6-1, 202) -- Anderson said Ole Miss was his leader recently, but he has three key visits lined up in January to Texas, Ole Miss and LSU that will go a long way toward determining where he ends up.
Prediction: Ole Miss -- Jeremy Crabtree
43 -- Nate Craig-Myers (WR, Tampa, FL/Tampa Catholic High School, 6-3, 208) -- The one-time Auburn verbal will visit Auburn and Ole Miss this month; he's also considering Florida State, South Carolina and Maryland for official visits. Florida and North Carolina also remain under consideration, with a decision expected on national signing day.
Prediction: Florida State -- Gerry Hamilton
48 -- E.J. Price (OT, Lawrenceville, GA/Archer High School, 6-6, 324) -- This one-time Georgia commit has visited Michigan State and USC and has January visits planned for Oklahoma, LSU and Auburn. Price, however, has been to Georgia numerous times, and the Bulldogs look to have a slight advantage.
Prediction: Georgia -- Derek Tyson
52 -- Ben Davis (OLB, Gordo, AL/Gordo High School, 6-4, 237) -- Davis has already visited Georgia and LSU with January trips to Notre Dame, Auburn and finally Alabama before announcing on national signing day.
Prediction: Alabama -- Gerry Hamilton
56 -- Michail Carter (DT, Jackson, GA/Jackson High School, 6-3, 311) -- Carter's recruitment is expected to come down to Alabama vs. Georgia, but the Peach State product will also make official visits this month to Clemson, Georgia Tech and likely Auburn. The Crimson Tide have made Carter a priority for months, but Kirby Smart can use that to help his cause at Georgia, having been key in Carter's recruitment while in Tuscaloosa.
Prediction: Georgia -- Gerry Hamilton
57 -- Demetris Robertson (WR, Savannah, GA/Savannah Christian Prep School, 6-0, 176) -- The versatile athlete is down to Notre Dame, Stanford, Alabama and Georgia with a decision likely on national signing day.
Prediction: Georgia -- Gerry Hamilton
62 -- Caleb Kelly (OLB, Fresno, CA/Clovis West High School, 6-3, 222) -- Fresno, California, might as well be a suburb of Norman, Oklahoma, given how well the Sooners have recruited there of late. Oklahoma coaches were in on Kelly early and that is a strong relationship. Notre Dame and Oregon are his other finalists, but it'd be a fairly sizable upset if he doesn't throw on an Oklahoma hat on signing day.
Prediction: Oklahoma -- Erik McKinney
65 -- Jauan Williams (OT, Washington, DC/Archbishop Carroll High School, 6-7, 306) -- Williams is still planning visits that could include Florida, Oklahoma and LSU, but Florida State seems to have the current lead.
Prediction: Florida State -- Tom VanHaaren
69 -- A.J. Brown (WR, Starkville, MS/Starkville High School, 6-2, 218) -- Alabama is certainly in the mix, and Brown has a visit scheduled to Tuscaloosa this weekend. Cal is also in the mix, and he will visit the Bears on the last weekend of January, but it's the hometown Bulldogs that appear to have the advantage.
Prediction: Mississippi State -- Derek Tyson
80 -- Keith Gavin (WR, Crawfordville, FL/Wakulla County High School, 6-3, 220) -- This one-time Florida State commit still has the Seminoles and Crimson Tide on top. Alabama made a big run earlier in the season, but FSU is the team that Gavin and his family grew up rooting for.
Prediction: Florida State -- Derek Tyson
82 -- Jeffrey Simmons (DE, Macon, MS/Noxubee County High School, 6-4, 262) -- This is viewed as a Mississippi State/Ole Miss battle, but don't count out Alabama either. Simmons will visit Mississippi State on Jan. 15, followed by a trip to Alabama on Jan. 22. This one is very close, but Ole Miss has been killing it on the recruiting trail and might have the inside track.
Prediction: Ole Miss -- Derek Tyson
94 -- Terrell Hall (DE, Washington DC/Saint John's College High School, 6-6, 254) -- The main battle for Hall is among Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Maryland, Ole Miss and UCLA, and he still plans on trying to visit UCLA, Maryland, Alabama and Ole Miss. This one is up for grabs.
Prediction: Maryland -- Tom VanHaaren
95 -- Jeffrey McCulloch (OLB, Aldine, TX/Davis High School, 6-3, 230) -- McCulloch talks about Alabama, Notre Dame and Texas, but all signs point toward this being a battle between the Fighting Irish and Longhorns. With a Jan. 15 visit to Austin still on the horizon, you have to like UT's chances.
Prediction: Texas -- Jeremy Crabtree
97 -- Boss Tagaloa (DT, Concord, CA/De La Salle High School, 6-1, 303) -- UCLA looks poised for a big close to this recruiting class, and Tagaloa could be part of that. He'll explore all his options in January, starting with an official visit to Washington. USC extended a fairly late offer, and Tagaloa and teammate Devin Asiasi are scheduled to visit the weekend before signing day, but it will likely be an uphill climb for any program to unseat the Bruins at the top.
Prediction: UCLA -- Erik McKinney
101 -- Landon Dickerson (OT, Hudson, NC/South Caldwell High School, 6-5, 306) -- Dickerson will visit Florida this weekend and still could visit Alabama and one more school, but Florida State, Tennessee and Auburn are in the top three for the big offensive lineman.
Prediction: Florida State -- Tom VanHaaren
107 -- David Long (ATH, Los Angeles, CA/Loyola High School, 5-10, 176) -- Long has said Michigan and Washington are the two most likely destinations. He has a visit to Washington and an in-home visit with Michigan before he leaves for Italy on January 22, so a decision will come before then.
Prediction: Michigan -- Tom VanHaaren
111 -- Scott Lashley (OT, West Point, MS/West Point High School, 6-6, 305) -- The four-star prospect is scheduled to visit Oregon on Jan. 22, but all signs seem to be pointing to Mississippi State, Auburn and LSU. The in-state Bulldogs have the advantage.
Prediction: Mississippi State -- Derek Tyson
115 -- Jackie Jones (CB, Long Beach, CA/Long Beach Polytechnic High School, 5-10, 157) -- Jones has a final five of Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, UCLA and USC. Up first will be an official visit to Alabama, but USC has done well at Long Beach Poly -- grabbing Juju Smith and Iman Marshall in back-to-back classes -- and is looking to make it a three peat with Jackrabbit stars.
Prediction: USC -- Erik McKinney
126 -- Eric Cuffee (CB, Waco, TX/Waco High School, 6-0, 189) -- Cuffee is down to Auburn, Ole Miss, Texas and Texas A&M, but the Longhorns have built a big lead and it would be a surprise if he picked anybody but UT.
Prediction: Texas -- Jeremy Crabtree
127 -- Prince Sammons (OT, Cincinnati, OH/Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, 6-7, 266) -- Sammons is a closed book and impossible to read, but he should be visiting Michigan State in the near future after taking trips to Duke and Oregon.
Prediction: Michigan State -- Tom VanHaaren
130 -- Damar Hamlin (CB, Pittsburgh, PA/Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School, 6-1, 182) -- Hamlin has a top three of Ohio State, Pittsburgh and Penn State and still has his Ohio State visit left before making a decision.
Prediction: Pittsburgh -- Tom VanHaaren
139 -- Lamar Jackson (ATH, Elk Grove, CA/Franklin High School, 6-3, 209) -- Jackson's top five consists of Arizona State, Nebraska, Oregon, UCLA and USC. He has used all five of his official visits and hopes to see Oregon, UCLA and USC unofficially before he announces his decision one week before signing day. USC was the big leader at the beginning of the process, but Nebraska has closed the gap. Things could hinge on Jackson's pending visit to Oregon in the coming weeks and how well he connects with the new defensive coaches at USC.
Prediction: USC -- Erik McKinney
144 -- Brendan Ferns (ILB, Saint Clairsville, OH/Saint Clairsville High School, 6-3, 223) -- Ferns is down to West Virginia (where his brother Michael attends) and Penn State, and plans to take official visits to both schools before deciding.
Prediction: Penn State -- Tom VanHaaren
145 -- Tramonda Moore (OT, Oklahoma City, OK/John Marshall High School, 6-6, 350) -- Oklahoma was on the verge of landing Moore's commitment after a mid-December official visit, but he'll now take trips to Oklahoma State (Jan. 15) and Alabama (Jan. 22) and then either Arizona State, Oregon or UCLA on Jan. 29. OU still has to feel good, but that could change.
Prediction: Oklahoma -- Jeremy Crabtree
149 -- Marquez Callaway (S, Warner Robins, GA/Warner Robins High School, 6-2, 170) -- The four-star safety will take visits to Tennessee on Jan. 15, Mississippi State on Jan. 22 and to Ole Miss on Jan. 29. Tennessee appears to have a slight lead.
Prediction: Tennessee -- Derek Tyson
150 -- Jordan Fuller (ATH, Old Tappan, NJ/Old Tappan High School, 6-2, 205) -- Fuller has a top group of Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and Notre Dame and still has a few more visits left before he makes his final decision, which includes Ohio State and Michigan.
Prediction: Ohio State -- Tom VanHaaren
156 -- Nigel Warrior (S, Suwanee, GA/Peachtree Ridge High School, 6-0, 188) -- Warrior has visits set up to Alabama (1/22), LSU (1/15) and Tennessee (1/29) in January. Georgia is also in the mix, but right now, Tennessee appears to be in the lead.
Prediction: Tennessee -- Derek Tyson
159 -- Dontavious Jackson (ILB, Houston, TX/Elsik High School, 6-2, 248) -- Jackson still hasn't truly tipped his hand, and official visits to Alabama and Florida in January are going to play a factor in his recruitment. Texas, Michigan and Florida State are also mentioned, but the Longhorns are trending before the key visits.
Prediction: Texas -- Jeremy Crabtree
163 -- Brandon Burton (S, Junipero Serra/Gardena, CA, 6-1, 190) -- Burton was set to commit in early January, and it likely would have been to UCLA. Florida State was right in the mix, however, and USC has since made a push. Those three schools are his finalists, as Burton will take his time now in finishing out the recruiting process. While the Seminoles and Trojans will likely be in this recruiting battle to the end, the Bruins could be tough to overcome.
Prediction: UCLA -- Erik McKinney
165 -- Carlos Becker (CB, Kissimmee, FL/Osceola High School, 6-3, 185) -- January official visits to Florida State, Ohio State and Ole Miss are on the docket with NC State having already received an official and remaining in contention.
Prediction: Florida State -- Gerry Hamilton
169 -- Armani Rogers (QB-DT, Los Angeles, CA/Hamilton High School, 6-5, 203) -- Several Pac-12 programs have shown interest throughout the year, but after decommitting from Cal, it looks increasingly as if Rogers will wind up playing his college football outside the conference.
Prediction: UNLV -- Erik McKinney
171 -- Damion Dickens (DE, Lexington, MS/Holmes County Central High School, 6-4, 225) -- The four-star defensive end seems to be favoring Mississippi State at this point. It would be a surprise if Dickens doesn't end up a Bulldog.
Prediction: Mississippi State -- Derek Tyson
176 -- Darion Anderson (ATH, Warner Robins, GA/Houston County High School, 6-0, 170) -- The former Georgia commit has a strong relationship with Colorado State head coach Mike Bobo, and the Rams appear to have the lead.
Prediction: Colorado State -- Derek Tyson
178 -- Kobe Jones (DT, Starkville, MS/Starkville High School, 6-4, 268) -- This is another Ole Miss/Mississippi State/Alabama battle. The four-star prospect will visit all three schools in January, but it will be hard to pull Jones out of Starkville.
Prediction: Mississippi State -- Derek Tyson
186 -- Byron Murphy (CB, Scottsdale, AZ/Saguaro High School, 5-11, 168) -- Murphy won't take long to commit once the dead period is over. He'll take an official visit to USC this weekend and then plans to announce his commitment on Jan. 21. USC is in need of cornerbacks in this class, but Arizona State has done a terrific job of recruiting in state in this cycle, and with fellow ESPN 300 prospect N'Keal Harry and Chase Lucas helping the cause, the Sun Devils will be tough to beat.
Prediction: Arizona State -- Erik McKinney
190 -- Tre Nixon (WR, Viera, FL/Viera High School, 6-1, 166) -- Nixon has a top list of Georgia, Penn State, Florida and Alabama, but says he hasn't figured out where he is headed.
Prediction: Penn State -- Tom VanHaaren
191 -- Jacob Mathis (TE-H, Tampa, FL/Berkeley Prep, 6-4, 223) -- Mathis says his decision will come when he figures it out 100 percent, and once he does, Michigan could end up being the school he picks.
Prediction: Michigan -- Tom VanHaaren
202 -- Damian Alloway (RB, Fontana, CA/Summit High School, 5-9, 167) -- Alloway has said Notre Dame and UCLA are running as the top two programs for him. He has already taken an official visit to see the Fighting Irish and appears set to visit UCLA later this month. This is one that could go either way before he finally announces his decision.
Prediction: Notre Dame -- Erik McKinney
205 -- Steffon McKnight (WR, San Diego, CA/Mira Mesa High School, 6-1, 157) -- McKnight has a top three of Boise State, UCLA and Utah. The Utes will receive an official visit from him on Jan. 15, and if everything goes well there, his recruitment could end. If McKnight remains uncommitted following the trip, the odds for the Bruins and Broncos go up.
Prediction: Utah -- Erik McKinney
215 -- Keyshawn Young (WR, Miami, FL/Miami Senior High School, 5-11, 163) -- Young still has some official visits in mind, so his decision could be swayed, but Michigan could be the final landing spot for the receiver nicknamed 'Pie.'
Prediction: Michigan -- Tom VanHaaren
220 -- Jared Mayden (CB, Sachse, TX/Sachse High School, 6-1, 198) -- Mayden was a longtime Oregon commit, but backed away from the pledge in early January after the Ducks shook up their staff. He has a Florida State visit lined up on Jan. 15 -- the Noles were on him even when he was committed -- but more visits will be scheduled.
Prediction: Florida State -- Jeremy Crabtree
223 -- Clyde Leflore-Chriss (WR, New Orleans, LA/Warren Easton High School, 6-0, 170) -- North Carolina and Texas A&M have emerged as the teams to beat for Leflore-Chriss with UNC set for Jan. 15, Texas A&M on Jan. 22 and Tennessee on Jan. 29. The visits will be key.
Prediction: Texas A&M -- Jeremy Crabtree
229 -- Stephon Taylor (DT, New Orleans, LA/McDonogh 35 High School, 6-5, 280) -- Taylor cut his list to Florida State, LSU, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Texas, and with only one visit in the books so far, his recruitment could go in any direction.
Prediction: Texas -- Jeremy Crabtree
233 -- Maxs Tupai (DE, Murray, UT/Murray High School, 6-2, 245) -- There are few recruits in the 2016 class who have gone through the recruiting process more quietly than Tupai. He has taken an official visit to Oregon State and could make a trip to USC in January, but this could turn into a heated in-state battle for Utah's No. 1 recruit. The Utes would certainly love to add Tupai to what has been a dominant front seven, while new BYU head coach Kalani Sitake could announce his arrival with a huge recruiting win.
Prediction: Utah -- Erik McKinney
235 -- Quartney Davis (WR, Houston, TX/Langham Creek High, 6-3, 181) -- Davis backed away from a commitment to Texas A&M in mid-December and since then has become one of the nation's hottest recruits. Ole Miss, Georgia, Tennessee, Oklahoma State and UCLA have emerged, with visits to Stillwater and L.A. in the books, but there's a long way to go.
Prediction: Oklahoma State -- Jeremy Crabtree
238 -- Ahmmon Richards (WR, Wellington, FL/Wellington Community High School, 6-2, 175) -- Richards will be on campus at Miami, Alabama and Tennessee in January after already making an official visit to Auburn. This is a big one for Mark Richt and the Hurricanes.
Prediction: Miami -- Gerry Hamilton
239 -- Robert Washington (RB, Mount Holly, NC/East Gaston High School, 5-10, 201) -- The former Syracuse commit will take visits to Pittsburgh, TCU and Alabama, and this one looks as if it could end up with a commitment to Pitt.
Prediction: Pittsburgh -- Tom VanHaaren
244 -- Aaron Hansford (ATH, Washington, DC/Saint John's College High School, 6-3, 209) -- Hansford hasn't tipped his hand too much, and with visits still on the horizon, it could go either way, but Maryland might be the late pick here.
Prediction: Maryland -- Tom VanHaaren
248 -- Romeo Finley (S, Niceville, FL/Niceville Senior High School, 6-1, 200) -- The four-star safety has visits set up to Georgia Tech (1/15), Clemson (1/22) and Miami (1/29), but it appears as though the Yellow Jackets have made the strongest impression.
Prediction: Georgia Tech -- Derek Tyson
254 -- Marcel Southall (DT, Duncanville, TX/Duncanville High School, 6-3, 270) -- Southall has a busy January, with trips to Oklahoma State, Miami and Ole Miss scheduled. He has already visited Oklahoma, and the Sooners have the lead based on the visit, but that could quickly change.
Prediction: Oklahoma -- Jeremy Crabtree
258 -- Matt Farniok (OT, Sioux Falls, SD/Washington High School, 6-5, 316) -- Farniok received the red-carpet treatment at Nebraska, and the Huskers have been in the driver's seat for quite some time, but January official visits to Iowa and Michigan State could change that.
Prediction: Nebraska -- Jeremy Crabtree
259 -- Nick Eubanks (TE-H, Plantation, FL/American Heritage High School, 6-5, 215) -- Eubanks likes Florida, but Alabama and USC are also in the mix. The talented tight end likes the way Florida used their tight ends under Jim McElwain this past year. The Gators have a slight lead.
Prediction: Florida -- Derek Tyson
263 -- Kyle Porter (RB, Katy, TX/Katy High School, 5-10, 190) -- After taking a slow approach to recruiting, things are heating up with Porter, who has three official visits lined up for January. Porter will trip to Arkansas, TCU and Texas. Where he lands could hinge on what happens with other backs like Devin White and Devwah Whaley.
Prediction: Arkansas -- Jeremy Crabtree
264 -- Binjimen Victor (WR, Coconut Creek, FL/Coconut Creek High School, 6-4, 174) -- Victor has already visited Ohio State and plans to visit Florida and Tennessee in January. West Virginia is also under serious consideration. This one is close, but the Buckeyes might have a slight advantage at this time.
Prediction: Ohio State -- Derek Tyson
269 -- Mykel Jones (WR, Patterson, LA/Patterson High School, 6-0, 180) -- Jones has remained quiet through the process, but visits to Alabama, Tennessee and Ole Miss are on the docket for him in January. Numbers will be tight at Bama, so expect this to be a battle between the Rebels and Vols.
Prediction: Ole Miss -- Jeremy Crabtree
274 -- Denzel Mitchell (RB, Hamilton, AL/Hamilton High School, 5-10, 210) -- The four-star running back has Ole Miss as his leader, and it doesn't appear that will change before signing day.
Prediction: Ole Miss -- Derek Tyson
275 -- Brian Burns (DE, Fort Lauderdale, FL/American Heritage High School, 6-5, 213) -- Burns was high on Georgia until Mark Richt was let go, but the Bulldogs are still in consideration. This appears, however, that it will come down to either Florida or Florida State. Burns' relationship with Florida defensive line coach Chris Rumph could be the deciding factor.
Prediction: Florida -- Derek Tyson
278 -- Audie Omotosho (WR, Plano, TX/Plano East Sr. High School, 6-2, 189) -- UCLA, SMU, Oklahoma State and TCU are the top schools on Omotosho's list, and he'll take visits to UCLA, Oklahoma State and TCU in January. This is the type of under-the-radar player whom TCU always lands.
Prediction: TCU -- Jeremy Crabtree
279 -- Lavert Hill (CB, Detroit, MI/Martin Luther King High School, 5-10, 176) -- The former Penn State commit looks to be headed to Michigan, where his older brother, Delano, will be a senior safety in 2016.
Prediction: Michigan -- Tom VanHaaren
