Throughout June and heading into the all-important July recruiting period, Jeff Goodman and Jeff Borzello will take a look at the summer checklists for the top 50 programs in college basketball, as revealed in Goodman's preseason ballot published in late May. Goodman and Borzello will show you each roster the way the program's coaches are looking at it, projecting graduation/NBA casualties and areas of need ahead of 2016-17. Below is the summer guide for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Summer Scenario
Notre Dame started its 2016 class on a high note in the spring, nabbing four-star guard Temple Gibbs. It was a significant commitment because it gave the Fighting Irish yet another four-star prospect (they had three in the 2015 class), and also because it essentially solved Notre Dame's backcourt issues for 2016-17. If talented guard Demetrius Jackson leaves for the NBA after next season, Gibbs gives Mike Brey and his staff some insurance at the guard position. Moving forward, it's all about the frontcourt for the Irish -- and they're trying to reel in some big fish in the 2016 class. There's the five-star Texas duo of Jarrett Allen and Marques Bolden as well as fast-rising Virginia native Javin Montgomery-DeLaurier, five-star Florida center Dewan Huell, New England native Wenyen Gabriel and Georgia prospect James Banks. Brey is hoping to land at least one of those prospects, and then fill out the rest of the frontcourt needs.
