Throughout June and heading into the all-important July recruiting period, Jeff Goodman and Jeff Borzello will take a look at the summer checklists for the top 50 programs in college basketball, as revealed in Goodman's preseason ballot published in late May. Goodman and Borzello will show you each roster from a coach's perspective, projecting graduation/NBA casualties and areas of need ahead of 2016-17. Summer scenario
Matt Painter and the Boilermakers pulled in two huge gets late this spring: talented freshman big man Caleb Swanigan and graduate transfer Johnny Hill, who should start at the point. Painter will have to recruit a point guard to replace Hill, and could also lose Swanigan after one year in West Lafayette, Indiana. Purdue will definitely lose three players, and besides a point guard, Painter will try to land a big man to replace Hammons and also an athletic wing. Point guard is the most critical spot though, and the targets include the combo guard Brown, Simpson and Edwards.
