Former world title challengers Jesse Hart and Joe Smith Jr. will meet in the main event of a Top Rank Boxing card Saturday night at the Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The fight will air live on ESPN and ESPN Deportes at 10 p.m. ET, with undercard bouts on ESPN+ starting at 6:30 p.m. ET.
Hart (26-2, 21 KOs) suffered his only two losses challenging Gilberto Ramirez for his WBO super middleweight title in 2017 and 2018. In June, Hart, of Philadelphia, dominated Sullivan Barrera in a 10-round unanimous-decision victory on the Tyson Fury-Tom Schwarz card at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Smith (24-3, 20 KOs) gained fame by becoming the first fighter to knock out Bernard Hopkins four years ago in what was Hopkins' last professional fight.
Smith, a union construction worker from Long Island, New York, is 1-2 since then, with his lone victory coming against Melvin Russell in June 2018.
ESPN boxing commentator Joe Tessitore and former world champions Timothy Bradley Jr. and Andre Ward will call the fight from ringside, with boxing analyst Mark Kriegel providing inside information from fighters and trainers and reporter Bernardo Osuna conducting interviews.
