Manny Pacquiao's return, Oleksandr Usyk's dominance and Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez's reign of terror headlined a jam-packed fight weekend.
Pacquiao, 46, ended a four-year retirement on Saturday night and nearly became a welterweight champion again, but fell short with a controversial majority draw against WBC titleholder Mario Barrios. Although he may not be as explosive as he once was, Pacquiao gave Barrios all that he could handle. His effort pushes him into the welterweight rankings at No. 6, while Barrios remains at No. 3.
Also on Saturday, Usyk tightened his grip on the No. 1 spot in the heavyweight division with a fifth-round knockout of Daniel Dubois in a rematch of their 2023 meeting. This was a much more dominant performance by Usyk, who didn't allow Dubois much breathing room before putting the hammer down in Round 5. Usyk is widening the gap between himself and the rest of the heavyweight division while Dubois holds his spot at No. 3.
"Bam" Rodriguez might be the most underrated pound-for-pound fighter in boxing as he steamrolled yet another opponent with a 10th-round TKO of Phumelele Cafu to become the unified junior bantamweight champion. It's frightening that Rodriguez is only 25 and is performing this well before entering his prime.
Elsewhere, Sebastian Fundora forced Tim Tszyu to quit after Round 7 to retain the WBC junior middleweight title. With the victory, Fundora stays at No. 3. Tszyu remains at No. 6 despite suffering another loss to "The Towering Inferno."
Brandon Figueroa slides down a spot to No. 7 in the featherweight division despite winning a controversial decision over Joet Gonzalez. Diego Pacheco also holds the No. 3 super middleweight ranking with his decision win over Trevor McCumby.
ESPN's divisional boxing rankings highlight the best in the sport in every weight class. Rankings will change based on recent results and performances. Fighters who have announced they are moving to a different weight class will be ranked in that new division, if warranted, only once they fight in that weight class. Fighters who currently own titles in two divisions can be ranked in both.
Fighters who haven't competed in the past 12 months -- and don't have a fight scheduled -- will be dropped from the rankings until they fight again. Any fighter who tests positive for a performance-enhancing substance will also be removed. That boxer will be eligible to reenter the rankings after his next bout.
