Mount Horeb and Oregon will face off in the first-place matchup at the 10th annual Badger Conference Challenge boys basketball event which is set for Friday and Saturday at Waunakee High School.
Pairings are based on standings following the completion of first round of play in the Badger South Conference and Badger North Conference. League tiebreakers were used to determine some placings among teams that were tied.
Game times on Friday will be 5:45 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. for games involving teams that are in eighth and seventh place, respectively, in their leagues.
Games on Saturday begin at 10:30 a.m. with the JV1 and JV2 teams and end with the first-place varsity game featuring Mount Horeb, which is ranked ninth in the Associated Press Division 2 poll, and Oregon at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Following are the pairings with first-round conference records:
Friday, Jan. 19 -- Match-ups
5:45 p.m. -- Baraboo (0-7) vs. Fort Atkinson (0-7)
7:15 p.m. – Sauk Prairie (2-5) vs. Milton (1-6)
Saturday, Jan. 20 -- Match-ups
Noon -- Portage (3-4) vs. Madison Edgewood (3-4)
1:30 p.m. – Beaver Dam (3-4) vs. Watertown (3-4)
3 p.m. -- Waunakee (4-3) vs. Monona Grove (5-2)
4:30 p.m. -- Reedsburg (4-3) vs. Stoughton (5-2)
6 p.m. -- DeForest (6-1) vs. Monroe (5-2)
7:30 p.m. – Mount Horeb (7-0) vs. Oregon (6-1)
Varsity games will be played in the Fieldhouse at Waunakee High School. JV games will be played in the Waunakee High School Old Gym and JV2 games will be played in the Waunakee Middle School gym. The Badger North teams will be the home teams.
Admission will be $5 per day, with wrist bands issued on Saturday. A percentage of the revenue is scheduled to be donated to Project Adam, which raises money for AED and CPR training in schools and communities.
