Caitlin Clark accomplished just about everything in college except winning a national championship. The former Iowa guard led the Hawkeyes to back-to-back national title game appearances in 2023 and 2024. Although she wasn't able to lead her team to that elusive championship, Clark didn't leave college basketball's biggest stage without securing her place in history.
Clark, who had already become the sport's all-time leading scorer, finished her collegiate career with 30 points against South Carolina in the 2024 title game. The effort brought her career total over 17 NCAA tournament games to 492 points, the most in the history of both the women's and men's NCAA tournaments.
Clark passed former Tennessee Lady Volunteers All-American forward Chamique Holdsclaw's 479 points. Holdsclaw, who led the Lady Vols to three straight national championships from 1996 to 1998, compiled her total in 22 career NCAA tournament games.
In 23 career NCAA tournament games, former Duke two-time national champion Christian Laettner scored 407 points, the most on the men's side.
