Villanova star Lucy Olsen, the third-leading scorer in the nation this season, is in the transfer portal, a source confirmed to ESPN on Tuesday.
Olsen, a 5-foot-9 junior guard from Pennsylvania, averaged 23.3 points in 2023-24, behind only Iowa's Caitlin Clark (31.6) and USC's JuJu Watkins (27.1).
Olsen was one of the best players in the Big East, earning Big East Most Improved Player and unanimous All-Big East first-team honors. Stepping into a void left by the graduation of WNBA lottery pick Maddy Siegrist, Olsen's scoring average (on 43.8% shooting, 29.4% from 3) was more than 10 points better than her sophomore year (12.4), when she secured a second-team All-Big East nod. She also had 4.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.9 steals per game this season.
Olsen, recently named a WBCA and Associated Press honorable mention All-American, guided Villanova to a WBIT championship game appearance this month, where they fell to Illinois. She also played in two NCAA tournaments with the Wildcats in 2022 and 2023.
