Michigan standout guard Laila Phelia is in the transfer portal, the school confirmed to ESPN on Tuesday.
Phelia, a first-team All-Big Ten selection this season, led Michigan in scoring this year with 16.8 points per game, while also tallying 3.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.2 steals per contest.
After No. 6-seeded Michigan's surprise run to the Big Ten tournament semifinals, where it upset Indiana in the quarterfinals before losing to Iowa, the Wolverines appeared in their sixth consecutive NCAA tournament, losing in the first round to Kansas in overtime.
Phelia, at the time a freshman, was a big piece of the program's run to the Elite Eight in 2022, Michigan's first-ever appearance that late in the tournament. She earned second-team All-Big Ten honors the season, her first as a full-time starter.
The 6-foot guard from Cincinnati, a rising senior for 2024-25, was the No. 28 recruit in the class of 2021 per ESPN HoopGurlz.
