Indiana women's basketball's junior forward Mackenzie Holmes has undergone a knee procedure and will begin rehabilitation immediately, the school announced Thursday.
Indiana has not said exactly what her injury is or how long she is expected to be out.
Holmes is the leading scorer (17.9 PPG) and rebounder (8.2 RPG) for the No. 6 Hoosiers, who are 14-2 overall and lead the Big Ten at 6-0. Holmes has missed the last two games, victories over Nebraska (Jan. 13) and Purdue (Jan. 16).
Indiana had both its scheduled games this week -- vs. Michigan State on Wednesday and No. 25 Iowa on Sunday -- postponed because of COVID-19 protocol. Indiana is next scheduled to play Jan. 27 against Illinois.
The Hoosiers advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight last season, when Holmes also led them in scoring and rebounding.
