Katie Lou Samuelson and the Indiana Fever have agreed to a contract buyout, the team announced Monday.
Sources told ESPN that conversations between Samuelson and the Fever regarding buyout terms have been happening over the past week, and in that span she's also been in discussion with four teams as potential next destinations.
The 6-foot-3 forward will hit the wire for five days, then becomes a free agent.
According to Her Hoop Stats, Samuelson was on a $180,250 guaranteed contract for 2025.
After missing the 2023 campaign due to maternity leave, Samuelson returned in 2024 in her sole year with the Fever, appearing in 37 games and averaging 4.3 points. Samuelson is currently in Miami playing for Unrivaled for Phantom.
The 2019 No. 4 pick out of UConn has averaged 5.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game throughout her career, which has included stints with the Chicago Sky, Dallas Wings, Seattle Storm and Los Angeles Sparks.
Samuelson was named to the USA 3x3 Olympic women's basketball team for the Tokyo Games but had to back out after contracting COVID-19.
