Alysha Clark returning to Seattle Storm, agent says

Three-time WNBA champion Alysha Clark is returning to the Seattle Storm, her agent, Jessica Holtz of CAA, told ESPN on Thursday.

Clark won championships with the Storm in 2018 and 2020, then played a vital role for the Las Vegas Aces when they won the WNBA title in 2023. The veteran forward was the league's Sixth Woman of the Year that season.

"Alysha's ability to influence the game on both ends of the court is rare," Storm coach Noelle Quinn said in a statement issued by the team Sunday. "She is an experienced leader and brings an unmatched level of defensive strength and skill. Not to mention, she's won three championship titles, so she knows what it takes to compete and win."

The Aces made a spirited effort to retain Clark and Tiffany Hayes, who decided to sign with the Valkyries.

But the Aces are constrained by what they were able to offer under the league's hard cap, allowing other teams to recruit and offer more to some of Las Vegas' key players.

Clark, 37, averaged 6.0 points and 3.6 rebounds this past season for the Aces.

"I'm really excited about coming back to Seattle, where it all started," Clark said in a statement. "The organization that gave me a chance in this league. The fans that embraced me from Day 1. The city that holds so many memories for me and my family. I can't wait to get on the court with my teammates and get to work. Seattle, WE'RE BAAAAAACK."
