PARIS -- Top-ranked Jannik Sinner's overpowering run through the French Open moved into the semifinals with a 6-1, 7-5, 6-0 victory over No. 62 Alexander Bublik on Wednesday.
Sinner, who lost to champion Carlos Alcaraz in the final four at Roland Garros a year ago, needed just 1 hour, 49 minutes to advance against Bublik, who upset No. 5 Jack Draper in the previous round.
Sinner hasn't yet ceded a set -- dropping a total of only 36 games through five matches over the past 1½ weeks. And he played clean-as-can-be tennis against Bublik -- who was making his major quarterfinal debut -- with 31 winners to just 13 unforced errors.
"I'm very happy with how I've arrived in the semifinals," Sinner said.
He ran into a little trouble in the second set when Bublik, known more for his phenomenal touch and trick shots, converted some drop shots from his bag of tricks to stay even after 10 games, but Sinner prevailed.
"We've played each other a couple of times already, so we already knew what to expect a little bit," Sinner said. "But, in other aspects, you never know how he is going to play.
"... I tried to focus on my side of the court. I was trying to play as solid as possible because he can have some ups and downs, so I just needed to stay consistent throughout the whole match."
Next for Sinner is Friday's semifinal against 24-time major champion Novak Djokovic, who defeated No. 3 Alexander Zverev, the 2024 runner-up in Paris.
The other men's semifinal will be No. 2 Alcaraz against No. 8 Lorenzo Musetti. They won their quarterfinals Tuesday.
Sinner, 23, is a three-time Grand Slam champion. That includes last year's US Open and this year's Australian Open, so his winning streak at majors is now at 19 matches.
He is the first man from Italy to reach six Slam semifinals.
