Emma Raducanu has pulled out of the GB squad for an upcoming Billie Jean King Cup qualifier to "look after her body."
Team GB are scheduled to face the Netherlands next week in a new round-robin format between April 10-12. However, the five-player squad will do so without Raducanu as she recovers from a busy period on tour.
Raducanu's representatives told the BBC that it was a "difficult decision," adding that "she needs a little space in the calendar to best look after her body."
The British No. 2 reached the quarterfinals of the Miami Open last week before losing to eventual finalist Jessica Pegula -- her deepest run at a WTA 1000-level event since her 2021 US Open triumph.
That came just weeks after she was stalked by a male fan during the Dubai Championships in February. The individual was later handed a five-year restraining order, while Raducanu was left emotionally distressed.
She was then defeated in the first round at Indian Wells the following week before making her run in Miami.
"I recognise this has been a difficult decision for Emma," GB captain Anne Keothavong, who will decide Raducanu's replacement, said in an X post by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).
"You always miss a player of her quality on the team, we've seen what she can do in the past representing her country ... but I have the utmost belief in the players who are travelling next week and will confirm a fifth player in due course."
