Wimbledon: Andy Murray to begin farewell alongside brother

Andy Murray will begin his final appearance at the Wimbledon championships on Thursday, where he is scheduled to compete in doubles alongside his brother, Jamie, on Centre Court at 4.45 p.m. BST.

Murray, 37, withdrew from this year's singles competition having not recovered in time from a spinal cyst procedure that left him without feeling in his right leg.

No matter the result, Thursday's match will not be his last at Wimbledon. Organisers announced on Wednesday he has entered the mixed doubles draw alongside Emma Raducanu after the pair were given a wild card entry. The mixed doubles competition begins on Friday.

"My doubles record isn't exactly the longest, or the most vast, but I couldn't say no," Raducanu said. "It's a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Wimbledon will also not be the last time he will play professional tennis. Murray has said he will retire this summer and does not intend to play the hardcourt season. However, he is planning to make his final bow at the Paris Olympics, which start later this month at Roland Garros.
