The Franchise QBs: Final rankings of top signal-callers in Raiders history

We've identified the top all-time quarterbacks for every NFL team and asked our NFL Nation beat reporters -- and you, the fans -- to help us determine each signal-caller's place in franchise history.

What follows is the final ranking of the top quarterbacks in Oakland Raiders history, both from our NFL Nation reporter and our final fan polling.

NFL Nation ranking:

1. Ken Stabler

2. Jim Plunkett

3. Rich Gannon

4. Daryle Lamonica

5. Derek Carr

The Raiders have been to five Super Bowls in their history and, as many observers believe, are on the precipice of another. The top four QBs here have already repped the Raiders on Super Sunday and Carr seems destined to get there soon enough. No one, though, represented the "Bad-Ass" Raiders of the 1970s more than Stabler, the late "Snake" studying the playbook by the light of a jukebox. Behind Stabler, the NFL MVP in 1974 who was inducted posthumously to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016, Oakland went to five consecutive AFC title games and won Super Bowl XI. Plunkett, meanwhile, was the league's ultimate Lazarus tale, winning Super Bowl XV honors before helping the then-Los Angeles Raiders win it again three years later. How is he still not in Canton? Gannon, NFL MVP in 2002, remains beloved in the streets of Silver and Blackdom as the last QB to take the Raiders to the Super Bowl. "The Mad Bomber," who played in Super Bowl II, elicits warm feelings in Oakland ... still. -- Paul Gutierrez
