Eberechi Eze became just the fourth player in the history to score a hattrick in the North London Derby as Arsenal beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 on Sunday to go six points clear atop the Premier League table.
Speaking to the broadcasters after the match, Eze nonchalantly said, "that's a good one, man" as the boyhood Arsenal fan received the player of the match award for a sparkling display.
The derby was all Arsenal from the first whistle to the last, with Leandro Trossard giving them the lead in the 36th minute. Five minutes later, Eze danced his way to his first. He then added a third for Arsenal 36 seconds into the second half and it appeared Arsenal were cruising to a big win.
Richarlison lobbed David Raya from 35 yards out to give Spurs a glimmer in the 55th minute, a fantastic goal created out of nothing, but that was soon closed out by Eze in the 76th when he completed his hattrick in style, with yet another finish from just inside the edge of the Spurs box.
After the match, Thomas Frank apologised to the fans and bemoaned a poor performance. The result leaves Spurs ninth in the table, and gives the red-and-white half all the bragging rights in North London. You can relive the action, as it happened, with our blog right here:
