Liverpool host Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday evening, after arresting a worrying run of form at the weekend with a 2-0 win over Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday.
Arne Slot will know that the Villa result would not count for much if Liverpool don't follow it up with positive performances, but they have a couple of huge tests coming up this week. Following up this game against Real is a daunting trip to the Etihad to play Manchester City at the weekend.
Liverpool have some injury concerns in their squad, with Alexander Isak and Curtis Jones both a doubt to feature, and Jeremie Frimpong and Alisson Becker definitely ruled out.
Unlike Liverpool, Real Madrid have no concerns about their form. They have lost only one game in all competitions all season so far, and have won the other 13. They come into this game with their confidence on a high, and they're playing some superb football as well. They followed up last weekend's El Clasico win against Barcelona with a comfortable 4-0 romp against Valencia.
It will be a tough game for Liverpool, with Real's big players -- the likes of Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior and Jude Bellingham all heading into this game in excellent form.
Liverpool will however be looking to repeat last November's result in the UEFA Champions League league phase against Real, when goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo gave them a 2-0 win at Anfield.
