United States women's national team forward Ally Sentnor has joined the NWSL-leading Kansas City Current from the Utah Royals.

Utah received $600,000 in guaranteed intra-league transfer funds in return, setting a new intra-league record for an NWSL transfer.

The teams also confirmed there is a future sell-on clause, which one source with knowledge of the deal confirmed to ESPN as twenty percent of a future transfer.

The Royals will not receive any players in return, according to multiple sources.

Kansas City could send Utah up to an additional $100,000 in conditional performance add-ons in the future, a source confirmed to ESPN.

Kansas City will pay Utah over multiple years to spread out each team's hit on the NWSL's net transfer threshold. Utah received $300,000 immediately and will recent another $200,000 next year and $100,000 in 2027.

Utah entertained trade conversations for Sentnor with several NWSL teams this summer, according to multiple sources.

"Thank you to the Royals for drafting this small town girl and giving me the opportunity to start a lifelong dream of playing professional soccer," Sentnor said in a statement. "Thank you for the opportunities and experiences on and off the field."

Sentnor has four goals in 12 appearances for the USWNT. She was named the 2024 U.S. Young Female Player of the Year.

The Utah Royals selected Sentnor No. 1 overall in the 2024 NWSL Draft, which ended up being the final draft before the league's new collective bargaining agreement abolished drafts.

Sentnor has one goal and one assist this season for the last-place Royals. She has started all 13 games for Utah, which has just one victory.

Kansas City, already loaded with attacking talent, sits in first place in the NWSL, eight points clear of the second-place Orlando Pride.

"Ally is a dynamic player who's tenacious on both sides of the ball and will be yet another threat on our roster," Kansas City head coach Vlatko Andonovski said in a statement. "She's a fun and exciting player to watch. Ally has continued to elevate her game year after year, and we're eager for her to make her mark in Kansas City. She demonstrates the mentality we're striving for and will be an excellent culture fit."

Kansas City plays at Utah on August 8.
