Kylian Mbappé has ended his debut season at Real Madrid as LaLiga's top scorer, after netting 31 league goals in 2024-25, and a total of 42 in all competitions.
The France international ended won the Pichichi Trophy as he finished four goals clear of second-placed Robert Lewandowski on the top scorers' list.
Madrid have endured a disappointing season collectively, failing to land a major trophy as they finished second to Barcelona in LaLiga, lost the Copa del Rey final and were eliminated in the Champions League quarterfinals.
However, Mbappé -- despite some criticism for his performances against top teams like Barça -- has still scored consistently, and finishes the campaign on 31 goals in 34 LaLiga appearances.
He also scored seven times in 14 Champions League games, twice in the Copa del Rey, and once in the UEFA Super Cup, Spanish Supercopa and FIFA Intercontinental Cup final.
The highlight of Mbappé's league season came as he scored a hat trick in Madrid's 4-3 defeat to Barcelona on May 11, a result which effectively ended their chances of winning the title.
He found the net in three of Madrid's four Clásico losses to Barça in all competitions this season, without being able to change the outcome.
Mbappé had already broken the record for the most goals in a debut Madrid season, previously held by Chile's Ivan Zamorano who scored 37 in the 1992-93 season, having previously overtaken Cristiano Ronaldo's 33 goals from 2009-10.
The highest scoring season of Mbappé's career to date came in his last season at Paris Saint-Germain, 2023-24, when he scored 44 goals in all competitions.
Earlier this season Mbappé said his goals would be "all for nothing" if they didn't help Madrid land a major trophy.
He will have one more chance to do so in the Club World Cup, with Madrid facing Al Hilal, Pachuca and Salzburg in the group stage next month.
Madrid's underwhelming overall performance sees coach Carlo Ancelotti leave to take charge of Brazil -- to be replaced by Xabi Alonso -- while the club have already started rebuilding the team ahead of next season, with the signing of Dean Huijsen, and the expected imminent arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
