- Chelsea, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are in competition for Benfica defender Tomás Araújo, according to Foot Mercato. After Real Madrid beat the two Premier League clubs in the race for AFC Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen, the 23-year-old Araújo has emerged as an alternative target. Araújo, who made his senior Portugal debut in November, will not come cheap. He has a contract through to the summer of 2029 and a release clause of €80 million. PSG, meanwhile, are looking for a possible replacement for Marquinhos.
- Victor Osimhen has rejected the chance to join Juventus, paving the way for Arsenal and Manchester United to battle for his signature. Reports in Italy from Il Mattino and Radio Kiss Kiss state that the 26-year-old, who scored 36 goals in all competitions on loan at Galatasaray this season, has no intention of joining the Turin club. The Nigeria international has a €75m release clause in his Napoli contract, which has a year to run with the club having the option to trigger an extension to 2027. However, Napoli may struggle to find a club willing to meet that price, with the two Premier League teams having other options. Arsenal are strongly linked to Sporting CP's Viktor Gyökeres, while Man United are set to move for Matheus Cunha of Wolverhampton Wanders and Liam Delap of Ipswich Town.
- Athletic Club winger Nico Williams has emerged as an attractive prospect for Real Madrid, according to Marca, adding that a move could be simple to complete due to his €58 million release clause. Arsenal had been considered favourites to sign the 22-year-old in the summer window, and the emergence of Los Blancos could force the Gunners to move quicker. A year ago Williams was expected to sign for Barcelona, before committing to Athletic Club for another year. With Rodrygo likely to exit the Bernabéu, Madrid are looking for a replacement.
- Bayern Munich are confident that they will sign Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz despite the attacking midfielder's family flying to England, reports Sport Bild. This comes with Liverpool taking the next step in their efforts to sign the 22-year-old, as their sporting directors will fly to Boston for a meeting with Fenway Sports Group to tell them why the €150m being demanded by Die Werkself is justified.
- Departing Manchester City attacking midfielder Kevin De Bruyne will make a decision on his future soon with his family, as reported by Fabrizio Romano. Napoli have made a contract proposal and would be willing to complete a deal for the 33-year-old at any moment, while Chicago Fire still have an offer on the table.

ESPN's Sam Tighe on interest in Benfica's Tomás Araújo:
Tomás Araújo has just completed his second full season at the top level and his first with Benfica, where he impressed in a variety of different roles and guises.
Naturally a centre-back, he started the campaign there before being shifted over to right-back to cover for various injuries. The Portuguese also played as the right-centre-back in a three-man defence at times, most notably against Bayern Munich in November, where he gave Jamal Musiala and Co. a tough time.
Araújo has been able to survive at full-back because he's very quick; he uses that speed and confidence to his advantage in one-on-one defending, often getting very tight to his marker and proactively hooking the ball away. On occasions he does get beaten, he can often recover.
In Champions League appearances this term, his anticipation and reading of the game have stood out, but his on-the-ball play has often been fairly basic (especially when he's on the flank). At youth level and in the Primeira Liga he's more adventurous with the ball at his feet, but we're waiting for that side of his game to translate to the top level.
Araújo looks like a good prospect, but he's clearly still developing and gaining confidence. He does not command a line - possibly because the old warhorse Nicolás Otamendi is standing next to him barking orders - and there are times where his defending lacks intensity. For a supposed €80 million, you'd be asking for quite a bit more than he offers at this stage.
