TRENDING RUMORS
- Real Madrid will try to sign Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Cristian Romero as Los Blancos look to rebuild their backline for Xabi Alonso, reports The Sun, with Trent Alexander-Arnold also joining from Liverpool as a free agent. Spurs rejected an approach for the 27-year-old last summer but could now have to let him leave after a miserable season, and it will be even more difficult to persuade the Argentine to stay if they lose to Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League final.
- Bayer Leverkusen are willing to offer Jadon Sancho a career lifeline this summer, according to The Sun. Manchester United have reduced the transfer fee they are seeking for the player in order to facilitate his permanent exit, following a mixed loan spell at Chelsea. The Sun claims that Sancho could be available for as little as £20 million, although the winger's wage demands could prove to be a stumbling block for Leverkusen. The 25-year-old is no stranger to the German game, having enjoyed two spells with Borussia Dortmund. However, it remains to be seen whether he'd be willing to return to the Bundesliga for a third time.
- Real Sociedad midfielder Martín Zubimendi is set to join Arsenal this summer on a permanent transfer, according to Noticias de Gipuzkoa. ESPN reported in April that the Gunners were in advanced negotiations and were willing to meet the player's €60m release clause. The Spain international turned down a move to Liverpool last summer and has also been a target of Real Madrid. Zubimendi, 26, has a contract with Real Sociedad until June 2027 but has rejected offers to extend his deal.
- Newcastle United are the latest club to make a move for Crystal Palace and England star Eberechi Eze, as per TEAMtalk. Nottingham Forest are also keeping tabs on the 26-year-old, who has been in fine form this season under Oliver Glasner. Eze has an €80 million release clause in his Palace contract, although the club could be willing to accept offers around the €70 million mark this summer. Internally at Newcastle, he is viewed as an ideal fit for Eddie Howe's system, as the club are keen to add some creativity in the middle of the park.
- Olympique Lyonnais attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki has left the door open to a potential Paris Saint-Germain move in the summer with his comment during the UNFP Trophies ceremony. When asked if he would feel comfortable in a locker room with the PSG players he was accompanied by on stage, the 21-year-old was quoted by L'Equipe as responding: "Oh yes, I know them all. Ousmane (Dembélé), he's a good friend of mine, Bradley (Barcola) too, obviously, when you have good affinities on the pitch, it's also felt off it."
