There were plenty of talking points from Europe's big leagues over the weekend despite the absence of Premier League matches. In England, there was FA Cup round five matches with Manchester City winning their game against Plymouth Argyle while holders Manchester United suffered a shootout loss to Fulham.
LaLiga saw a change at the top with Real Madrid losing against Real Betis and both Barcelona (table toppers now) and Atletico Madrid took advantage by winning their respective matches. Inter Milan retained their top spot in Serie A after their draw against second-placed Napoli.
In the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen still occupy the top two places with the former leading the table by eight points. Meanwhile, PSG remained perfect in their Ligue 1 run with a 13 points lead over Marseille.
