Crystal Palace sack Laura Kaminski, Remi Allen exits Southampton

Crystal Palace and Southampton both parted ways with managers on Friday, making it three coaching changes in two days across the top two tiers of women's football in England.

Women's Super League club Palace sacked promotion-winning Laura Kaminski, who joined the club in July 2023, while Southampton of the Women's Championship announced Remi Allen's departure.

Those exits followed Liverpool parting ways with Matt Beard on Thursday, after he stated he believed he had done all he could for the club.

The 47-year-old had been in charge of the club over two spells, leading the side from 2012-2015 before returning in 2021, winning promotion to the Women's Super League shortly after.

It has been a rocky first campaign for Palace in the top flight, picking up only six points from 14 games, currently siting in the relegation zone, four points shy of Aston Villa in 11th.

"This has been an extremely difficult decision for the club to take," Palace chairman Steve Parish said. "Laura has made a fantastic impact since arriving in the summer of 2023, getting the club promoted to the WSL for the first time in its history.

"Laura has given her all, on and off the pitch, and she leaves here with all of our thanks and best wishes for the future."

Southampton said Allen, a former player for Villa, Birmingham City, Reading and Leicester City, had left by mutual agreement after taking over as manager in July 2024.

The club were in the thick of a promotion battle last season, but this campaign, have dropped out of the race, currently in eighth place, 11 points shy of Birmingham at the top of the table.

All three clubs are beginning their searches for new leaders with interims being named for the rest of the current season.

Liverpool face Palace on Sunday at Borough Sports Ground in the WSL.
